Our team is currently seeking a Configuration Management Lead to support the Ground Systems and Mission Operations-3 (GSMO-3) program. The Configuration Management Lead will manage the NOAA GOES-R satellite product processing development environment and lead algorithm change management. This position will support the product readiness and operations (PRO) team to coordinate and ensure seamless integration, test, and checkout (ITCO) activities within the GOES-R ground system.

ESSENTIAL ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage the product processing development environment to include coordinating maintenance and deconfliction activities.
• Ensure integrity of changes with respect to the development environment and different system interactions.
• Co-coordinate early Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 8 testing and then RHEL 8 activities.
• Lead the algorithm change management process with a special focus on PRO releases. Ensure discrepancy reports are flowed through the algorithm change process.
• Write change requests and waivers as appropriate to get PRO releases deployed to operations
• Understand and deconflict ITCO activities with PRO releases.
• Understand and provide relevant ITCO schedule dates to the science community including potential roadblocks and data outages.
• Serve as the primary POC for communications between PRO and the data operations support team.
• Lead the Algorithm Action Review Team (AART) and Algorithm Review Board (ARB).
• Maintain Algorithm Change Management Plan (ACMP) and the development environment OPSCON as book boss.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB:

• Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of industry experience.
• U.S. Citizenship

DESIRED SKILLS:

• Experience working in science algorithm development, calibration and validation, configuration management, and/or software version control.
• Experience in satellite environmental data product processing and/or satellite broadcast services involving geostationary or polar orbiting satellites (or similar platforms) in a 24/7 environment.
