The Gogo Summer 2024 Intern: Wireless Communications Engineering will assist RF engineering group in testing the Nextgen ATG air interface.

How will you make a difference and learn?

• Support 5G air interface testing through documentation of test procedures and test results
• Build scripts controlling channel emulator, phase shifter, signal analyzer, and signal generator
• Perform RF calibration of lab setups
• Run field tests on base station antenna beamforming accuracy
• Monitor and analyze receive signal level data from 5G base stations
• Analyze 5G flight test data

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in an engineering field of study with emphasis on Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or previous work experience in these types of fields
• Completed coursework in wireless and digital communications
• You must be enrolled in an accredited school
• This is a paid summer internship that requires an average availability of 40 hour per week from May-August
• Job may require some travel

Preferred Skills, Academic Experience & Talents

• Familiarity with RF test equipment such as spectrum analyzers and signal generators
• Knowledge of Matlab or equivalent data processing programs
• Exposure to Python or other scripting languages
• Desire to work with Linux
• Demonstrated technical aptitude and ability to work in a team environment
• Strong communication skills that include development of written reports, development and delivery of presentations, and the ability to listen and communicate effectively
• MS Office experience with proficiency in Excel

This paid internship requires an average availability of 40 hours per week during the summer of 2024 in Gogo BA's office located in Chicago, IL. Interns are full-fledged members of the team -engaged from day one through structured training, mentorship, a diverse set of experiences, a network of peers across the company, and leadership opportunities. Our internship program is designed to provide exposure to real, complex operational projects in which you will be working with a variety of people in different business functions. Ideal candidates are top-performing students who excel at analytic problem solving and have a desire to re-engineer processes, quantify business impacts, and be part of major corporate initiatives.
Not located near Chicago? No problem! Gogo Business Aviation will provide a $2,500 stipend to assist with your living expenses during your internship. This one-time sign on bonus will be paid in the first payroll following your start date.
