We are seeking an experienced Golang Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in the development and implementation of a platform aimed at empowering internal engineering teams to effortlessly migrate existing applications to GCP and build new applications on the platform. This fully remote position allows you to work with modern technologies, drive technical solutions, and make a significant impact in a large enterprise environment.

Essential Qualifications
- Must live in the continental U.S. and be available to work EST/EDT business hours

Responsibilities
- Utilize your extensive Golang expertise to develop high-quality backend services and self-service tools that empower internal engineering teams, streamlining the migration and application development processes on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Collaborate with infrastructure teams to ensure smooth and efficient deployment of backend services on GCP, providing necessary insights and support for infrastructure requirements
- Design and implement scalable, maintainable, and performant backend solutions using Golang, adhering to best practices and coding standards
- Integrate with GCP services and APIs to leverage the full potential of the cloud platform, enabling seamless interactions between backend services and GCP resources
- Implement CI/CD pipelines and workflows, working closely with infrastructure teams to enable automated testing, deployment, and release processes for backend applications
- Optimize backend performance and reliability, proactively identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions
- Stay up to date with the latest advancements in Golang and relevant backend technologies, sharing knowledge and insights with the team to promote continuous learning and growth
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, provide technical guidance, and contribute to architectural discussions for the overall success of the platform
Requirements
- MUST HAVE 3+ years of hands-on professional Golang development experience, building scalable and performant backend services within a large enterprise environment
- 3+ years of hands-on professional cloud platform experience (GCP preferred) including compute services, container orchestration (Kubernetes), object storage, event-driven messaging, and identity and access management (IAM)
- Solid experience in implementing CI/CD pipelines and workflows, integrating Golang applications with cloud services for automated testing, deployment, and release processes
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively interact with Principal Engineers, developers, and other stakeholders
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to finding innovative solutions
- A self-motivated individual who can work independently as well as in a team-oriented setting
Nice-to-Have
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
- Experience with Terraform
Estimated annual salary: $90,000 - $120,000
