Google Cloud Practice Architect

The ideal candidate will have several years’ experience with Google Cloud design and implementation. You will be working in a dynamic environment and encouraged to come up with innovative solutions to technical problems analyze and prioritize problems putting users at the heart of every decision.

You will ideally have proven experience in multiple GCP deployments. Your engagements will see you working directly with customers and prospects. You will have confidence in knowing your skills (and limitations) you are calm and collected under pressure and always available to mentor the less experienced. Your colleagues see you as a good team player who is keen to share knowledge as well as to listen and learn from others.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver proof-of-concept projects technical workshops and lead implementation projects.

• Focus on key customer solutions such as web applications enterprise applications archiving and disaster recovery education and government.

• Creating articulating and positioning an innovative and compelling value proposition so that customer executives clearly realize the benefits and transformation value of migrating to GCP.

• Defining and executing technical migration and modernization strategies by working with highly technical teams.

• Deliveringmodern architectures such as microservices and event driven architectures using managed services and cloud native capabilities.

• Engaging with development infrastructure security and IT operations teams at the customer and identifying repeatable patterns and architectures fo rcloud migration.

• Identifying platform improvements influencing future iterations of the GCP platform.

Qualifications:

• Security in GCP

• Networking in GCP

• GKE and overall compute in GCP including GCE

• GCP Storage - Spanner CloudSQL MemoryStore GCS etc.

• Automation and operations in GCP

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in ComputerScience Engineering Mathematics or a related field.

• 3+years of design implementation or consulting experienc ein applications or infrastructures.

• 5+ years within specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development cloud computing systems engineering infrastructure security networking Automation and operations)

• 3+yrs experience in a Solutions Architect Enterprise Architect or Lead Architect role leading the discovery design and construction of fullstack custom and commercial off the shelf applications.

• Multi-tier distributed architecture experience within IT consulting IT operations application development or support to include the following: experience migrating architecting operating onpremises or cloud-based solutions or experience transforming legacy IT solutions and working knowledge of software development tools and methodologies.

• Experience architecting designing migrating workloads to thepublic cloud.

• Deep level understanding of various migration techniques such as re-host refactor re-architect re-platform repurchaseetc.

• Expert Knowledge of Google services such as compute GKE GCE Spanner GCS Networking and Security.

• Deep understanding of GCP Ecosystem

• In depth understanding of IP networking VPN's DNS load balancing and firewalls.

• Extensive expertise in designing systems with high availability resilience and fault tolerance incorporating load balancing horizontal/vertical scaling and ensuring continuous availability.

• Strong track record of implementing GCP services in a variety of distributed computing environments.

• Experience in infrastructure automation through DevOps scripting (E.g.ShellPython Ruby PowerShell)

• Experience with software development lifecycle(SDLC) and agile/iterative Methodologies.

• Scripting and/or coding skills (Examples include but are not limited to: Java(OR)Python(OR)TerraformPowerShell (OR) Bash)

• Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible Salt Chef Puppet.

• Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery(CI/CD) frameworks and tools such as Jenkins GitHub Actions Gitlab CI Cloud Build Cloud Deploy.

• Direct hands-on experience leading the design development and deployment of business software at scale or recent hands-on technology infrastructure network compute storage and virtualization experience.

• Experience with IT compliance and risk management requirements(eg. securityprivacySOXHIPAA etc.)

• Experience in a range of migration discovery profiling migration automation and operations technologies and tools.

• Willingness to travel to customer locations as needed.

For applicants working in California Colorado Washington or New York City we are excited to share the base salary ranges for this position exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonus.  The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills experience qualifications work location and market conditions. The anticipated starting pay range of California Washington state and New York City applicants for this role is $122600 - $163130. The anticipated starting pay range of Colorado applicants for this role is $118500 - $149100. Unless already included in the posted pay range and based on eligibility the role may include variable compensation in the form of bonus commissions or other discretionary payments.  The discretionary payments are based on company and/or individual performance and may change at any time.  Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set level of experience licenses and certifications and specific work location.
