As the Director of Governance and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) at Zayo, you will hold a pivotal leadership position, orchestrating the alignment of business transformation initiatives, governance processes, UAT activities, and advisory services with strategic objectives. Your extensive expertise in governance, resource allocation, UAT management, and advisory services will be instrumental in driving successful initiative execution and achieving transformative business outcomes. As Director of Governance and User Acceptance Testing you will collaborate closely with key stakeholders to capture, structure, and prioritize initiatives, ensuring optimal utilization of resources and seamless delivery of transformative initiatives. Additionally, you will take charge of the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) process, ensuring meticulous testing of transformative initiatives before implementation.
*We're open to this role working in a remote capacity within the U.S.; however, our ideal candidate will be local to the Denver, CO or Boulder, CO areas with the opportunity to work in a hybrid capacity for the needed face-to-face relationship building that is ideal for this type of position.
Responsibilities
Governance:
- Cultivate strong relationships with business units to understand their transformational needs and initiatives.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive governance structure and processes for business transformation, collaborating closely with the leadership team.
- Build and maintain an ongoing pipeline of transformational initiatives aligned with business priorities and resource availability.
- Ensure consistent capturing and prioritization of transformational demand, facilitating regular alignment sessions.
Intake Management:
- Manage the intake of new initiative requests from various business functions.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to capture initiative details and requirements for evaluation and prioritization.
- Develop and maintain a structured approach to intake management, ensuring a clear understanding of scope and impact.
Resource Allocation and Prioritization:
- Act as the primary partner for business functions to align and prioritize transformative initiatives.
- Set budget and resource requirements, influencing effective decision-making by the leadership team.
- Develop KPIs, dashboards, and reports to provide transparency and tracking of transformative initiatives prioritization.
User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Management:
- Manage, develop, and coach a diverse and growing team of professional UAT Testers.
- Develop a comprehensive library of UAT test scripts in close collaboration with all associated business owners, including Commercial Operations (Sales/Sales Ops/Solutions Engineering, Churn, Customer Success, and Marketing), Service Delivery, Network Operations, Finance/Accounting and Product. These test scripts will be built based on the descriptions of features and functions, ensuring a thorough and aligned UAT process for transformative initiatives.
- Ensure the creation of user manuals and notes for new features and processes being tested during UAT.
- Manage the ongoing execution of UAT scripts to meet key deliverable dates.
- Manage real-time UAT progress updates throughout the day, setting the standard for transparency and efficiency. Foster seamless UAT for transformative initiatives, aligning testing with business objectives.
- Ensure tight management of all UAT defects and triage identified in standardized documentation for prioritization with Commercial Operations (Sales/Sales Ops/Solutions Engineering, Churn, Customer Success, and Marketing), Service Delivery, Network Operations, Finance/Accounting and Product team colleagues.
Advisory Services:
- Support Process Improvement initiatives, including problem diagnosis, baseline performance analysis, root cause analysis, building improvement hypotheses, sustainable gain mechanisms, and statistical analysis.
- Support Change Management activities, including impact analysis, change readiness, change effectiveness, and change communication.
- Provide project/program guidance and support including templates, process improvement, program roadmap development, project work plan reviews, tracking, and reporting.
Qualifications:
- A university degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field. Additional certifications in Business Transformation or related areas are advantageous.
- Minimum 10-12 years of experience in leading business transformation initiatives, UAT management, and providing advisory services within a complex organization.
- Demonstrated expertise in governance, resource allocation, advisory services, UAT management, and driving successful business outcomes.
- Proven ability to collaborate with diverse teams and facilitate communication between business units and advisory teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, making data-driven decisions for prioritizing transformative initiatives, UAT strategies, and advisory services.
- Excellent person-to-person communication skills with a track record of building relationships and fostering collaboration.
Base pay range: $137,600 - $200,000, commensurate with experience
