Government Affairs Coordinator
Job Description
The Government Affairs Coordinator provides administrative and logistical support for the State and Federal Government Affairs team and ensures the smooth functioning of the team, including maintaining processes, systems, communications, and information tailored to the unique needs of this team. In addition to the specific requirements listed below, the Coordinator should possess a high work standard, the ability to learn quickly, and be adept at setting priorities and anticipating needs.

Monitors, tracks, researches, and reports on legislative issues and actions for state and federal government affairs initiatives through review of CQ Bill Tracking and GovHawk, testimony, hearings, floor debates, and bills on the state and federal levels. This work may also include Internet research, reviewing newspapers, and online services for items of interest.

Prepares, reviews, and edits legislative updates for internal and external communications

Coordinates and administers grassroots communications on state and federal legislative issues through social media, and other grassroots tools. Keeps up with new developments and trends.

Runs reports, updates spreadsheets, and maintains precise records

Maintains government affairs web pages to ensure timely, accurate information is provided to the government affairs department.

Assists in meeting management including, developing and preparing materials, sending invitations, coordinating logistics, and other associated tasks for events such as conference calls, webinars, and travel booking and accommodations.

Assists staff with special projects.

Works in partnership with department supervisor and other PrizePicks staff and volunteers to advance the mission, strategic objectives, and priority issues.

Demonstrated experience using social media networks and supporting successful online advocacy campaigns for online audiences and policy makers.

Participates in PrizePicks related activities and meetings and performs other duties as assigned.

Experience writing, specifically for advocacy campaigns.

High attention to detail without losing sight of the bigger picture, conscientious approach to work, and the ability to anticipate needs and be proactive.
