Gas South is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Government Affairs Corporate Liaison. You will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, representing our company at industry events, and advocating for our products and services. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, an understanding of government affairs, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Represent Gas South with executive and legislative branches of government, regulatory agencies, industry associations, issue coalitions, community groups, and other key stakeholders. Attend pertinent events, meetings, and fundraisers on behalf of the company.
- Attend Atlanta MSA area chamber meetings to build relationships and identify opportunities for business development.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including elected officials, community leaders, and business owners.
- Assist in lobbying efforts at the Georgia State Capitol.
- Represent Gas South at industry events, trade shows, and conferences.
- Advocate for our products and services to key decision-makers, and work to influence public policy decisions that impact our business.
- Collaborate with the sales team to develop leads and create new business opportunities.
- Stay up to date on industry trends, competitive activity, and legislative changes that could impact our business.
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Political Science, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in government affairs, business development, or related field.
- Demonstrated knowledge of government affairs and the legislative process.
Preferred Experience:
- Effective networking skills and ability to present a polished, positive company image.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with colleagues across multiple functions.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify opportunities and propose effective solutions.
Location Requirements:
Atlanta, GA
Travel to and attend external events most days of the week and some weekends.
Flexible working hours.
Out-of-town and/or overnight travel will be required 2-3 times per year.
