GPS Model-Based Systems Engineer
KBR is seeking an MBSE engineer to join our Global Positioning System (GPS) Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) team. The GPS SE&I Team provides specialized engineering, analysis, architecture, test, operations and sustainment support, and subject matter expertise to GPS customers in support of the Space System Command's (SSC) Position Navigation and Timing (PNT) mission area. Our GPS SE&I team has a need for a Systems Engineer with experience in applying Digital Engineering or Model-Based Systems Engineering tools and techniques for Department of Defense (DoD) space-based systems or other industries.
Responsibilities include:
- Support and lead model-based systems engineering activities between customer, SE&I and development contractors for the PNT SE&I Program
- Develop models and lead/train junior modelers in using SysML in Cameo and SparxEA.
- Update, plan and execute work utilizing Jira and Confluence (e.g. sprints, kanban boards, dashboards)
- Provide MBSE/SysML-related support to the systems engineering team, integrating models to modern requirements management, architecture, and systems engineering software
- Develop Operational Activity Models (OV-5bs) associated with upcoming GPS payloads in the Sparx Enterprise Architect tool with the Architecture Team
- Execute engineering processes and support the customer as required to enable effective systems engineering and integration efforts across the GPS Enterprise.
- Collaborate with prime contractors, other support contractors, government civilians, and members of the US Space Force (USSF)
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree, preferably in a technical STEM field, such as Electrical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Math, Physics, or similar.
- 5+ years of related experience, including MBSE experience
- Technical GPS knowledge and understanding of fundamental systems engineering and requirements processes.
- Extremely motivated individual who is a self-starter and works well in a team environment.
- Demonstrated experience working with USSF/DoD customers in an acquisition environment
- Experience writing and delivering technical documents and briefings.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills as well as organizational skill.
- Strong interpersonal skills to enable working, interfacing, and interrelating with diverse personnel and dynamic teams
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience working with space systems and/or ground and space system acquisition, especially at SSC/SMC
- 10+ years of related experience, including SysML and SparxEA experience.
- GPS experience highly desirable
