GPSG-Application Architect

Introduction
As an IBM Application Architect you directly help clients transform their business  and solve complex problems. You will define the scope and vision for projects that deliver customized solutions using your knowledge of IBM platforms.  You are a technical leader serving as a liaison among business partners technical resources and project stakeholders.

Your Role and Responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced application architect to design and implement complex software systems. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of architecture principles experience with various software development methodologies and a proven track record of leading projects from conception to deployment.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Design and oversee the architecture of software applications ensuring they meet the highest standards of performance reliability and scalability.
• Collaborate with stakeholders including business leaders product managers and development teams to understand requirements and translate them into architectural solutions.
• Develop and maintain architectural documentation including diagrams models and specifications.
• Evaluate and recommend technologies and tools that align with the company’s technical strategy and business needs.
• Guide and mentor development teams on architectural best practices design patterns and coding standards.
• Perform architectural reviews and provide guidance to ensure compliance with design principles and quality standards.
• Analyse and resolve complex technical issues and performance bottlenecks.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve the architecture and development processes.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Proven experience designing and implementing large-scale complex systems.
• Strong knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g. Agile Scrum) and architectural patterns (e.g. microservices SOA).
• Proficiency in [relevant technologies and programming languages e.g. Java.NET Python cloud platforms like AWS/Azure].
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and strategically.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
