Graduate Floor Trader

Floor Trading at IMC:

In addition to electronic trading, we have a strong trading presence in the broker market (trading on the floor and executing trades with brokers). We are looking for a recent graduate to join IMC as a Graduate Floor Trader. Here your decisions have direct impact on the company’s trading profits and there is constant opportunity to truly impact our trading strategies. What You'll Do:

During market hours, you’ll respond to quotes in the open outcry broker market at the CBOE. When the markets are closed, traders actively build and enhance the quality of our electronic trading strategies, requiring superior analytical, mathematical, and computing skills. We’re seeking someone who loves participating in markets and building tools to succeed in them. As a trader, you will have the freedom to find your niche within the firm and excel.

Your First Six Months:

You will participate in a global traineeship program focused on enhancing your knowledge of trading, programming, and mathematics. The training module consists of in-house courses and trading simulations developed and delivered by our experienced traders and engineers. Your Core Responsibilities: 

• Work in a team of broker and screen traders to optimize trading
• Interact with brokers throughout the day, making markets and providing liquidity
• Build and maintain relationships with brokers
• Perform trades analysis to improve trading
• Research new market opportunities

Your Skills and Experience: 

• BS in Finance, Economics, Mathematics or related field of study
• Interest in financial markets is a must, but no prior knowledge or experience required
• Superior numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work successfully in a fast-moving and competitive environment
• Experience with programming in Python is preferred
• Desire to work in a team environment is a must
• Must be available to start August 2024
