Responsibilities

Global Public Policy Internship Overview

Domestic and international healthcare policy environments are dynamic. There are many policy topics on which an intern may work. The specific topic of focus will be decided based on the intern's skills and experiences and the most urgent business needs at the time. Example topics may include: Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), value-based healthcare policy, Health Technology Assessment, pharmaceutical pricing policy, biologic medicines policy, and health system design and financing.

The intern will explore an important current topic and design a corporate policy position or policy options, a substantive presentation and/or affiliate tools with broad applicability.

Basic Qualifications

Requirements:
  • Actively pursuing a Master's degree in public policy, public administration, public health, international affairs, law, economics, or business.
  • Will graduate between December 2023 - August 2024.

Desired Experience:
  • Experience within a government agency, consulting firm, or NGO
  • Experience in healthcare policy specific to government regulation of health care and health care systems

Additional Information:
  • There is no guarantee of employment offer following this internship. Intern will be considered for full-time positions, based on his or her prior work experience and performance over the course of his or her summer internship, if there is a business need and open position.
  • Lilly arranges various intern activities, including sporting events, dinners, lunch and learns, etc. to provide opportunities for socializing, professional development, and learning more about Lilly.
  • Interns will receive a competitive salary and free parking at their work site, as well as access to Lilly's LIFE fitness center and bike garage.
  • If the intern's job position requires a move from another location, Lilly will provide subsidized housing.
  • There is the possibility for two internships from which to choose: Domestic Policy and International Policy (e.g., international business impact and market access). You must specify preference for one in your cover letter. The internship will be based at Lilly's global headquarters in Indianapolis, IN.
