Trading Track
The Trading Track of the Scalable Capital Graduate Program is a unique opportunity to start your career in trading and capital markets and prepares you for a position at our growing trading desk. It is designed for young professionals and (post-) graduates that are passionate about financial markets and trading techniques and have a general affinity for technology and development languages.

During the Trading Track program, you will learn everything you need to know about capital markets, market structure (and varieties of trading venues, on-exchange and OTC trading, execution strategies) as well as the intricacies surrounding our trading processes. 
Rotation 1: Wealth Management
You will support the Wealth Management team with ongoing research on the financial instruments the trading desk trades (see Rotation 2), flows and trading metrics, as well as contribute to enhancing the in-house trading systems with the product, engineering and trading team. This comprises internal pre- and post-trade assessments as well as market monitoring (e.g. FX, yields, spreads, etc.). 

What are you going to learn
You will have the ability to gain first knowledge and experience in the full spectrum of on-exchange ETP trading, financial instruments and building corresponding tools and knowledge to ensure highest execution quality. 
Rotation 2: Trading
After your first touch points with trading in our Wealth Management team, you will be part of our trading desk and work closely with your fellow traders to conduct the trading activities of our Wealth Management on a day-by-day basis. You will operate and optimise our trading systems and order parameterisation, also with our developers from Financial Engineering. You will be continuously monitoring markets, instruments and open orders. Simultaneously you will develop, assess and apply risk management practices.

Work on projects and daily tasks ranging from post-trade reports to the analysis and optimisation of trading costs or the development of sophisticated execution strategies. Gradually, you will take on more responsibilities and ownership, starting with monitoring and eventually making informed decisions in fast markets.

What are you going to learn
You will learn everything you need to know about the financial products we trade, their fair value calculation and strengthen your knowledge in the full spectrum of on-exchange and OTC trading. This includes e.g. having a holistic overview of the market structure (and knowledge of unique varieties of trading venues) and strengthening your understanding of trading techniques and strategies. 

Rotation 3: Elective (Operations / Financial Engineering)
Operations / Securities Services
Get to know our platform in-depth and what it takes to execute and process millions of client trades every year. Help us scale by analysing existing processes, identifying growth potential and implementing improvements to further increase the efficiency of our processes. Develop expertise in Securities Services, participate in all day-to-day activities and be responsible for interesting projects.

What are you going to learn
Expand your knowledge in Securities Services, one specific part of Operations. Discover what it means to take end to end ownership for a specific area of expertise by developing or improving securities processes, crunching numbers and deriving scalable solutions for our fast paced investment platform and its unique demands.

Financial Engineering
You will develop fully automated trading algorithms that manage billions in assets driven by pure quantitative evidence. Development of discretionary and B2B Wealth allocation models including risk, cost and tax optimization will be part of your daily challenges. You will customise smart rebalancing and cash-flow management strategies across multiple tax regimes in a serverless architecture. You will develop interactive web dashboards for trade monitoring, historical analysis and model validation.

What are you going to learn

You will learn how to bridge the gap between research and practice by productionizing econometric models that autonomously react to market movements and client requests in tens of thousands of individual portfolios. You will learn how to apply best practices in software development and seamlessly integrate production level software into the R&D environment. You will understand agile, learn how to deliver scientific ideas fast and benefit from a working culture in which the best ideas win.

Qualifications

• Excellent university degree in a relevant field of study (e.g. finance, science, mathematics, statistics, economics or related)
• Passion for trading, global markets and technology
• Understanding of financial products
• Strong analytical thinking, leveraging both quantitative and qualitative data to drive decisions
• Attention to detail, ability to deliver and iterate under pressure and attracted by a fast-paced environment and volatile markets
• Experience from internships in the area of banking, proprietary trading or market making and/or asset management
• Proficiency in Google Sheets/Excel and an affinity for development languages (preferably SQL and Python). Programming experience is a strong plus
• Collaborative team player to be part of our trading desk
• Excellent English communication skills
