Grants Administrator
Job Description
The Grants Administrator is responsible for coordinating the development, administrative management, reporting and closeout of grants and other programmatic investments for the department.Responsible for the grant activities of the department, both before and after the awards process. Establishes standards and deadlines for proposals, reviews proposals for completeness, and ensures compliance with organizational or foundation standards. Maintains records of funding sources and disbursements. Ensure that all grants activity is organized, budget compliant, and accurately reported. Collaborates with Finance and Grants Management to ensure integrity of financial transactions and contractual agreements. Liaise with various relevant internal departments to expedite other grant needs (e.g., start up, reconciling payment issues) as they arise and work to pre-established, and at times very tight, deadlines. Oversees standard terms and conditions for grant award letters and agreements. Present portfolio overview, and any relevant issues, at monthly leadership budget meeting.Bachelor's degree (or equivalent combination of formal education and experience). At least three years of relevant work experience in research administration, grant administration, proposal development or contracts-related position. Experience working in an academic and/or healthcare institution research management would be preferred. Knowledge of grant proposal process, programs and Grants Administration policies and practices. Must be exceptionally organized to handle multiple projects, prioritize and meet deadlines. Ability to work independently and exercise independent judgment. Ability to anticipate objections and plan appropriate responses; ability to perform and lead effectively in stressful situations and to solve problems as they occur. Requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, to interact effectively with a multi-layered interdisciplinary team and outside contacts. Must be proactive, innovative and a quick learner, and will be expected to learn new skills as needed. Must be a dedicated team player, with a willingness to learn and to share knowledge to the staff. Proficient with standard software used in office setting (i.e. MS Word, Excel, web browsers, etc.). Experience with or ability to become knowledgeable of multiple grants database software. Other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary by supervisor
This position is eligible for a hybrid or fully remote role dependent upon applicant experience and overall performance.
