Graphic Design Freelancer (South Korea)

Job Summary

Ruggable is a leading direct-to-consumer / e-commerce brand based in Los Angeles, California. We pride ourselves in having an extremely loyal base of customers and a talented team made up of genuinely caring people with strong bias towards action and results. 

As our South Korea graphic designer, you will help Ruggable introduce the brand to a Korean audience by creating compelling designs for our marketing materials. You will ensure that the brand is consistent globally, but adapted to the local context. You will also need to have a highly creative mindset that challenges the status quo to cut through a highly saturated market and deliver top performing creative. 

In this role, you will provide ongoing graphic design support for the website and other marketing assets to support growth initiatives. This is a very flexible freelancer position in which you will collaborate with a brilliant team of creatives and performance marketers in the HQ and in the local market.

What You’ll Do: 

• Review and adapt global marketing assets to fit the South Korean market, taking into account local market preferences and context
• Develop net new graphics and assets for Ruggable’s marketing materials for the South Korean market, all to the required creative standards, specifications and deadlines
• Translate marketing strategy into persuasive ads, campaigns, and storytelling
• Pitch concepts internally to the team, bring new and fresh ideas to the table
• Present work to creative and business stakeholders and incorporate feedback

What You’ll Need to Have:

Required:

• 4-5 years of experience in graphic design
• Strong language fluency in English and Korean
• Strong understanding of the local South Korean market / culture
• Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects
• Strong branding experience
• Strong attention to detail and ability to articulate design choices
• Ability to work under pressure without compromising performance or accuracy in a deadline-oriented environment
• Understand how to adapt creative concepts to market trends and changing ad landscape
• Team-player, hard-working, organized, and goal-oriented
• Have a thorough understanding of photography, typography and printing techniques
• Dynamic portfolio that demonstrates a wide range of ability
• Solid understanding and application of color theory
• Ability to acknowledge customer journey and user experience by designing for accessibility
• Experience with graphic design for email and web assets

Preferred:

• Experience designing for a DTC company 
• Familiarity with Figma
• Passion for or strong interest in working at high-growth home goods start-up
• Copywriting experience
• Ability to be flexible and positive in a fast-paced environment
• Ownership mentality and ability to stay accountable for your time, your work and your actions
• Team player, be supportive and collaborative with all team members 

Compensation:

• $40-$55 per hour
