Job Description

The Graphic Design Intern position offers you the opportunity to be involved in all stages of the creative process from conception to finished product. This role will include a balance of creativity, technical ability, and presentation style. The position will be 32 hours a week in the St. Louis, MO offices starting summer 2024.

Swank Motion Pictures, Inc. is the nation's leading licensor and distributor of movie and TV content for non-theatrical public performance. Swank helps spread the magic of movies and TV shows beyond homes and theaters. Our business is the licensing and distribution of content to non-theatrical markets like worldwide cruise lines, U.S. colleges and universities, K-12 public schools and libraries, hospitals, motor coaches, Amtrak trains, correctional facilities and other markets such as parks, art museums and businesses. In fact, we've been bringing movies and TV shows to more people in more places since 1937.

The Graphic Design Intern will be responsible for all stages of development of printed and digital marketing collateral. The intern will have the opportunity to collaborate with marketing staff and other graphic designers to assist in the development of concepts. This intern will also have the opportunity to design and present layouts independently. The internship will involve design and layout work for a number of Swank's business-to-business markets. The intern will also gain exposure to the execution process by maintaining project involvement through approvals and the production/printing process.

Requirements

  • In the process of pursuing an undergraduate degree
  • Core graphic design skill and technical experience with the Adobe creative software
  • Demonstrate design skills by sharing completed coursework related to concept development, layout, design, and typography
  • Proficiency in a Macintosh environment using Adobe software
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, specifically related to communicating rationale behind design choices
  • Objectively accept feedback and take action to enhance designs
  • 3.0 GPA Preferred
