The Graphic Designer at Cornerstone Building Brands is responsible for crafting innovative designs across various media platforms including print, marketing materials, presentations, web graphics, and more. The expectation is for top agency level creative work that can supplement, and in many cases replace the need for, outside agency work.Â
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop world-class designs for multiple commercial and residential building products brands, while staying in line with Cornerstone Building Brands’ and product brands’ established creative guidelines
- Create designs such as brochures, flyers, advertisements, spec guides, sales materials, logos, web graphics, banners, exhibit displays, presentations, etc. for both internal and external audiences
- Ensure final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and on-brand
- Set up files for print and web while ensuring the best quality possible
- Manage multiple projects at once with frequently adjusting priorities and often with tight deadlines
- Coordinate with various business units, outside agencies, digital team, printers, and colleagues as necessary
- Ensure all projects are added and project statuses are kept up to date in project management software (Asana) while communicating with team members to keep projects moving forward to meet established deadlines
- Review other designers’ work and provide feedback and design tips as needed
- Assume leadership responsibilities during the times that the Creative Director is away, assigning out projects, completing final design reviews, and answering immediate questions sent to the creative team
- Collaborate with different marketing teams to conceptualize and execute campaigns
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in graphic design
Qualifications
- B.A. preferred in Graphic Design, Marketing, Visual Communications, or equivalent combination of education and practical work experience
- At least 5 years of agency or in-house design experience
- Advanced skills using InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop is a must
- Understanding of spatial layouts and ability to think creatively and analytically
- Strong Attention to detail
- Great time management, multi-tasking, project management, and organizational skills
- Positive attitude
- Must exhibit exemplary people skills because this person interacts with internal customers constantly
- Ability to give and receive feedback and constructive criticism
- Technical knowledge of the printing process
- Understanding of marketing, production, website design, corporate identity, product packaging, advertisements, and multimedia design
- PowerPoint and Production/Printing proficiency are preferred
- Illustration, DSLR photography, Lightroom, videography, motion graphics, Widen DAM software experience, and Asana project management software skills are an added bonus
- A link to a strong portfolio of past work is a prerequisite to be considered for the position

*Full-time is defined as regularly working 30+ hours per week. **Union programs may vary depending on the collective bargaining agreement.
