Graphic Designer

Description

Responsible for creating flyers, ads, brochures, packaging, and other marketing support materials using graphic design, desktop publishing, and illustration software in both Mac and PC environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Writes print specifications and coordinates with service bureaus, printers, and other vendors to ensure cost-effective design, materials, and processes.
  • Designs and lays out marketing materials, including but not limited to brochures, newsletters, calendars, ads, flyers, posters, T-shirts, and other promotional items.
  • Creates and maintains an organized photo resource library.
  • Reviews artwork, bluelines, color keys, and press proofs to ensure accuracy and the overall quality of publications.
  • Creates ads for the company's website and other online tools.
  • Performs other related duties as required or assigned.

  • Writes routine reports and correspondence.
  • Adds, subtracts, multiplies, and divides numbers (using currency and other forms of measurement).
  • Utilizes common-sense understanding in order to carry out written, oral, or diagrammed instructions.
  • Deals with problems involving several known variables in situations of routine nature.
  • Plans the time, method, manner, and/or performance sequence of own work; may also occasionally assist in planning work assignments performed by others within a limited area of operation.
  • Frequently makes decisions of both minor and major importance, which may affect the work operations of other employees and/or clientele to a moderate degree.
  • Completes some moderately repetitive tasks.
  • Uses noncomplex machines and equipment (adding machines, calculators, copy/fax machines, etc.).

Education and Experience

  • Equivalent of four years of high school (required).
  • Associate's degree in graphic design or related field (preferred).
  • Two to four years of relevant experience in graphic design (required).

Computer Skills

  • Advanced: Adobe creative suite or similar software, presentation/PowerPoint, word processing/typing.
  • Intermediate: Database, spreadsheet.
  • Basic: Alphanumeric data entry, CRM.
