Graphic Designer II

Yorktel is currently seeking a Graphic Designer II who will assist in digital and print graphic design, publication development, typesetting, and the creation and editing of specialized multimedia presentations. The Graphic Designer will support the MMC in all graphic design work for SSA. Duties of the Graphic Designers include creating designs for digital and printed posters supporting agency initiatives, banners, and banner-ups for SSA events such as regional conferences and public affairs campaigns, setup of displays, designs for both internal and national communications, and all other duties under this labor category as stated in the BPA.

Duties and Responsibilities:

This position regularly communicates to internal and external customers to achieve a mutually desirable outcome. This position will make recommendations to internal parties and customers in regard to concerns or issues and ensure resolution of any problems working closely in conjunction with assigned clients. This position will regularly communicate answers to questions and respond to detailed inquiries about issues. This position handles and is expected to protect all internal and external confidential l information and must utilize discretion and judgment based on company policies and procedures.

• Supporting agency initiatives, banners, and banner-ups for SSA events such as regional conferences and public affairs campaigns
• Creating designs for digital and printed posters
• Setup of displays, designs for both internal and national communication
• Creating designs for digital and printed posters
• Desktop Publishing
• Design graphics for both digital and print media.
• Responsible for post-design presentation of materials including the printing, cutting, laminating, and mounting of printed designs such as flyers, banners, backdrops, etc.
• Setup banners, banner-ups, flyers, backdrops, posters, and other large graphic displays.
• Assist with other design and multimedia projects as assigned.
• Interact with clients and project stakeholders to determine specifics of design requests while always maintaining a professional approach and demeanor.
• Other duties as assigned

Skills and Abilities:

• Microsoft Office Suite - contractor personnel shall be able to use the software applications included in the most current version of Microsoft Office Suite including but not limited to Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint in support of graphic design and other multimedia presentations and the communication thereof.
• Adobe Creative Cloud - contractor personnel shall be able to use the software applications included in the most current version of Adobe Creative Cloud including but not limited to Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign in support of graphic design and other multimedia presentations.
• Adobe Acrobat - contractor personnel shall be able to use the most current version of Adobe Acrobat and capable of converting documents from various software applications into .pdf format.
• Web Compatibility - contractor personnel shall be able to create and convert documents from various software applications into web-friendly graphics files compatible with SSA's existing internet and intranet infrastructures.
• Printing - contractor personnel shall know how and be able to print, cut, laminate, and mount printed designs such as flyers, banners, backdrops, etc.
• Design Display - contractor personnel shall be able to set up banners, banner-ups, flyers, backdrops, posters, and other large graphic displays.
• Proof Reading/ Editing - contractor personnel have experience reviewing documents to ensure spelling, grammar, and layout conversion rules such as hyphenation standards etc.

Education and Experience:

• 5 years' experience in the graphic design field or
• Have an Associate's Degree or certificate in the graphic design field plus 3 years' experience in graphic design

Physical Requirements:

• May require occasional lifting to 25 lbs.
• Requires extensive sitting, standing, and walking
• Domestic travel requiring multi-night stays within and at times outside the local work area
• Valid driver's license
• Valid Passport: International Travel may be required
• Must be willing to complete background checks and drug tests as required by current or future contracts
• Must be willing to apply for security clearances, SSA Suitability, and other related clearances to be able to work at certain customer locations.
