GRAPHIC DESIGN PREPRESS SPECIALIST

Description:

The Graphic Prepress Technician ensures the proper format, appearance, and layout of text and images before production. They set up electronic proofs for production and prepare approved proofs for production. They may also occasionally assist with graphic production as needed, as well as maintain, repair, and troubleshoot printing equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide graphic design support utilizing Adobe Creative Suite, Imposing Fiery Front End, and variable data programming using applicable software (Mac and Linux platforms)
• Pre-flight and troubleshoot supplied digital files for fonts, images, color corrections, resolution, and printability and converted to PDF print-ready status for both digital and offset printing

• Designing graphics for clients
• Work with graphic designers regarding set-up issues and provide proof
• Know when to escalate issues to ensure uninterrupted production
• Maintain work orders and logs with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Other duties as assigned.

DESIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & QUALIFICATIONS

• Experienced in Adobe Creative Cloud
• Prepress experience for Digital and Offset Presses
• Experience with Fiery Software a plus

• Ability to multi-task, work independently and efficiently
• Ability to view color accurately and to manipulate files to obtain printable outputs
• Be able to lift and move 40-pound boxes of printed and stock paper
• Strong written and oral communications skills
• Attention to detail

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office
• Dedicated team player
• Ability to travel periodically both internationally and domestically
• An enthusiastic learner with superior creative, problem solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills
• Has demonstrated consistent above-average performance evaluations in previous roles

• Ability to work in an environment characterized by constant change and tight deadlines
• Organizational and time management skills: Ability to set priorities and plan well in advance to meet multiple shifting deadlines
• Detail Oriented - Keen attention to detail required
• Communication and interpersonal skills: Able to provide a clear, concise, accurate, and timely oral and written communication
• Dedicated team player with innovative ideas who can partner with others (internal and external) to achieve objectives as well as the ability to work autonomously
