JOB SUMMARY

The primary responsibility of this position will be starting up a grinder or pulverizer, monitor and maintain operations while the grinder is running, feed scrap into the grinder and/or load material to feed into the pulverizer, adjust the process as necessary, troubleshoot problems as they occur and perform minor maintenance on the line as needed. The goal of the position is to safely maximize output of the equipment at the lowest operational cost while producing a product that meets or exceeds our customer expectations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Comply with Westlake Safety Policies and Procedures
• Regular attendance, timeliness and scheduling flexibility
• Set up and start grinder or pulverizer
• Feed scrap or regrind into the equipment
• Pack product as needed
• Train new grinders on the equipment or other new employees
• Perform change out of equipment as needed
• Change materials as necessary
• Perform adjustments on the equipment as necessary to produce a quality product within Westlake specs
• Examine product for defects and correct them
• Inspect the product to ensure it is within Westlake specs
• Notify Management/Supervisors of any quality or equipment issues

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• One year of manufacturing experience
• Mechanical aptitude
• Be able to work up to a 12-hour shift

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

• High School or GED equivalent

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKK ENVIRONMENT

• Prolonged standing or in stationary position
• Complete repetitive movements
• Be exposed to sounds or noise levels that may be uncomfortable
• Wear all required PPE
• Lift/move/transport items up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to ascend stairs
• Ability to work around dust, chemicals and other substances and in various environmental conditions
