Mission Assurance Manager II / Mission Assurance Manager III - Ground and Operations

You will be a key leader, partner, and essential member of the Enterprise Assurance team. The Enterprise Assurance Strategic Capabilities Unit is seeking a Ground Operations Mission Assurance Manager; to own mission capabilities and provide mission assurance and risk management support to the organization. This position will provide mission partner capabilities to all aspects of the Mission Operations Engineering groups, providing mission assurance and risk management support to the organization. A Ground MAM monitors and control risks to development, testing, and external systems integration for ground Command and Control (C2) and mission data processing systems on multiple programs at Ball Aerospace. The position will have ownership in how Ball executes assurance activities for Ground System Development at Ball.

What You'll Do:
- Embrace ambiguity and be adaptable; have the ability to navigate between strategic thought and tactical implementation in technical and programmatic settings with various stakeholders.
- Be a visionary representative, partner, and contributor with program and mission-system personnel (designers, customers, suppliers, management, and mission assurance disciplines) to define, assess, and analyze mission level operations requirements and identify impacts to the customer and end-users.
- Derive and Quantify mission-level risk for the Ground System Development phases of a program and facilitate transition from program development to operations with controlled, well understood risks.
- Lead team continuity and cohesion for Mission Operations Assurance (MOA) presence within cross-functional and internal partnerships and throughout program lifecycles as needed. Align and organize with program and mission-system personnel to define, assess, and analyze mission level operations requirements and identify impacts to best deliver upon missions that are meaningful to our customers, nation, and world.
- Partner in proposal activity by providing Operations Assurance leadership with estimates related to fulfilling mission operations assurance requirements. Partnerships include other Mission Assurance personnel on programs to provide; a holistic risk and opportunity management profile for all phases of program lifecycle, best-value solutions for enterprise test configuration, execution, and reviews, etc.
- Drive innovation utilizing; advance technical skills, a holistic comprehension of MOA, their adaptive leadership, and strong advocacy for the mission and team. This innovation will lead to contribution to strategic planning, development, and execution to drive by to 'Go Beyond.'
- Translate and manage g ground system agile development backlog as risk and opportunities for program management and customer needs.
- Architect a budgetary and scheduled plan for MOA tasks and activities for the course of a program lifecycle. Investigate and disseminate reporting of project metrics to develop a continuous feedback loop of improvement. Champion and envision process improvement for current and future programs.
- Enumerate and analyze mission-level risk with corresponding assessments to prepare for the various phases of program by constructing a plan to direct and review efforts of Ground SEIT execution to support the program requirements while working to cost and schedule constraints.
- Monitor and Control risks to SAFe Agile software and MUE development, external systems integration with ground Command and Control (C2) and mission data processing systems on multiple programs.
- Balance and Integrate program constraints (risks, cost, and schedule) with translated customer objectives to compose a defendable set of internal approach, requirements, procedures and products based on BPL (Ball Process Libraries) and ISO standards.
- Project situational awareness to Ground SEIT teams during system integration with external stakeholders.
- Foster effective internal and external partnerships to advocate effectively even during controversial circumstances to maintain the best interest of Ball's vision.
- Exudes Expertise through orator abilities and command of knowledge within internal and external interfacing for stakeholders and program personnel (i.e., designers, customers, subcontractors, management, and mission assurance discipline) speaking to the value proposition of the org's capabilities, best values, enterprise test configuration, and solutions/reviews (whether it be for mission, systems, programs, etc.).
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
What You'll Need:
- Mission Assurance Manager II - BS/BA in related field plus 10 years or more related experience.
- Mission Assurance Manager III - BS/BA in related field plus 12 years or more related experience.
- Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
- A current, active Secret security clearance is required.
- 5 or more years of continuous, related, progressive experience in mission operations, system architectural development, modeling, and/or risk assessment preferred.
- Collaborative working skills with programs, cross-disciplinary teams and with management.
- Experience with Agile ground processes preferred.
- Experience with JIRA tool suite preferred.
- Expertise/experience with assessing and quantifying system-level cyber mission risk preferred.
- Leadership skills to Inspire and Connect with team members, customers and subject matter experts to provide program Mission Assurance leadership and Achieve Mission Success preferred.
- Technical background to engage the MA team for in design, production/test readiness, and other reviews and audits with the ability to make risk-informed decisions preferred.
- Interpersonal skills to foster advisor relationships with Program Management, other program team leads, other cross functional teams, and on-site customers as required preferred.
- Presentation skills to formally present information and communicate effectively with Program Management, Executive Leadership and Customers preferred.
- Experience with scheduling, budgeting, and milestone monitoring as well as reviewing technical reports to assure technical and contractual compliance preferred.
- Experience in mission management, command & control, mission data processing, ground terminal infrastructure preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in operations processes such as discrepancy reporting, change management and anomaly response preferred.
On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site three or more days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between Ball campuses and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.

Direct Program Charge: 90%
Compensation & Benefits:
- HIRING SALARY RANGE FOR MISSION ASSURANCE MANAGER II: $139,500 - $193,500 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
- HIRING SALARY RANGE FOR MISSION ASSURANCE MANAGER III: $157,500 - $216,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
