Salary: $115,000 - $170,000

We are hiring a Ground Software Systems Engineer who will be responsible for the full mission lifecycle of mission operations software system design, development, integration, and test. The lifecycle starts with capturing customer requirements and culminates in validating the solutions with York internal and external customer mission operators.
RESPONSIBILITIES

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with program leadership, customer, and ground system teams to understand ground software requirements for the telemetry, tracking and command (TT&C), mission planning, flight dynamics, trending, and automation system domains.
- Work with the product development and ground system software development teams to understand and document current capabilities and influence and support the design of future features.
- Work with cybersecurity teams to understand cybersecurity requirements inherited from NIST SP 800-53 security controls or findings from vulnerability scans or assessments that lead to new ground software features.
- Work with integration and test teams to manage the execution of test cases and frameworks for validating mission requirements and architecture.
- Implement and manage designs of ground software in Cameo Systems Modeler.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Candidate must have at least 7-10 years of experience with United State Government spacecraft ground systems engineering
- Candidate must be a U.S. citizen
- Candidate must have knowledge of system engineering, including requirements and use case development, architecture and ConOps definition, verification, and validation
- Candidate must have experience in schedule integration and management
- Candidate must be familiar with spacecraft subsystems, ground systems, ground system interfaces and have experience working with space vehicle systems engineers
- Candidate must have experience in mission operations, including working with mission operations teams to develop procedures, support mission tests and rehearsals, and troubleshoot anomalies
- Candidate must have experience in ground system development, integration and test, and post-launch sustainment
- Candidate must possess excellent communications skills and have the ability to lead technical teams in meeting technical objectives and resolving issues
- Candidate must have experience with flight operations
- Candidate must have knowledge of RF communications, spacecraft command and control systems, space to ground communications, crypto devices with red/black side architectures, guidance, navigation, and control (GNC), and flight dynamics
DESDIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Secret or Top Secret Security Clearance preferred
- Experience in documenting requirements, creating UML and SysML structural and behavioral diagrams, developing test cases, and tracking traceability across all artifacts using software tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler
- Knowledge of multi-mission satellite operations, including impacts to ground system design and analyzing operator work tasks to translate into ground system changes and features for increasing efficiencies and decreasing operator errors
