Job DescriptionÂ
Our holding company team is looking for a Group Accounting Manager to help support our continued growth. This person will take a lead role in our financial reporting process and implement accounting best practices across our family of operating companies. In this role, you will build relationships with and help support finance leads across the portfolio.
We are looking for a self-motivated, analytical, and detail-oriented problem solver who is excited about ârolling up their sleevesâ in an entrepreneurial and high-growth environment. The role requires someone who can excel as an individual contributor, project leader, and holding company representative to portfolio company employees and leaders. The Group Accounting Manager will report to the Director of Financial Reporting and Consolidations and work closely with the Vice President of Accounting.Â
ResponsibilitiesÂ
- Implement and maintain consistent accounting practices across portfolio companiesÂ
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end accounting closes for portfolio companies and holding companyÂ
- Prepare consolidated financial reports for holding companyÂ
- Develop reports to inform portfolio company leaders of financial performance and opportunitiesÂ
- Support the financial onboarding of newly acquired companies and their finance leadersÂ
- Support audit,tax, and M&A onboarding workstreams for the holding company and its portfolio companiesÂ
- Lead and/or assist organization-wide initiatives (system migrations, improving processes & controls, compliance with accounting guidelines, metrics tracking, etc.)Â
RequirementsÂ
- 4+ years of public or private accounting, and/or private equity experience, with increasing responsibilityÂ
- Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and experience preparing financial statements for public or GAAP-compliant private companyÂ
- Experience with financial audits
- Data and Excel mastery, able to turn numbers into actionable business insights, proficient at modeling and budgetingÂ
- Ability to lead projects with multiple stakeholdersÂ
- Exceptional verbal and written communicator with ability to work across all levels of the organizationÂ
- Highly detail orientedÂ
- Self-aware and collaborative team playerÂ
PreferredÂ
- CPA or CMA certificationÂ
- Public Accounting ExperienceÂ
- Private equity experienceÂ
Other InformationÂ
- Candidates must live in the greater Chicagoland area. While the role is largely remote, occasional visits to the Chicago office will be required.Â
