Department Summary:

The Systems Engineering Analytics Department has an opportunity for a Group Leader. The candidate should have a strong background in software development fundamentals, experience in the development of data pipelines. The successful candidate will be a key part of the management team and a thought leader within the department. This position will be responsible for serving as a direct supervisor for 5 to 7 early career staff members with a diverse skill base in the data analytic pipeline development. The candidate will work closely with department members in a collaborative working environment.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Group Leader will be responsible for recruiting and hiring world class talent in full stack software development with a focus on data pipelines.
• Group Leader will work across the corporation developing and cultivating trust within the MPS and MNS division leadership.
• Group Leader will be a key contributor in the development of data driven work shaping and product/deliverable generation with a focus on creating opportunities for group project teaming.
• Group Leader will provide mentoring and career guidance for interns and early career tech staff to better prepare for project contributions, promotion, and career growth.
• The Group Leader will lead the group in support of department and division goals. Focusing on growing work, growing staff, and growing the organization.

The Group Leader will set the standard for leadership demonstrating exemplar traits for improving moral and improving command climate

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science or related field.
• Must be a US citizen capable of obtaining and maintaining a US government clearance.
• Candidate must have knowledge and experience with data collection techniques, data preparation tools and database system design.
• Candidate must be experienced with the implications of change and management by servitude.
• Candidate must be collaborative and able to develop and expand the community of interested in software development from a System Engineering perspective.
• Candidate must be well experience in applying agile software development techniques for data driven solutions.
• Candidate should be capable of creating a vision, gaining consensus, establishing a plan, and motivating team members towards productive outcomes.
• Candidate should be familiar with managing projects/tasks and project management tools.
• Candidate must be results-oriented, capable of delegation, and effective at oversight.
• The preferred candidate must have the ability to lead a project task effort implementing staff expansion resulting in a teaming-based approach.
• Successful candidate must be a skilled communicator who establishes credibility.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Science or related field
• 8 + years' experience developing data driven solutions
• Preference given to qualified candidates with active clearance.
• Knowledge and experience with data collection techniques, data preparation tools and database system design.
