Group Leader, SEO Strategy Marketing – Denver, CO; Miami, FL; New York, NY

With a passion for growth and a commitment to pushing boundaries, Western Union is seeking a strategic and visionary leader to Head up our global SEO program and drive new customer growth.

As the lead across SEO, you will be accountable for deeply understanding business priorities, setting SEO strategies across a complex business, executing those strategies with demonstrated business impact, and educating stakeholders about SEO. You have deep hands-on SEO experience (technical and content), including solving tough multi-domain, enterprise-level SEO problems with global footprints, developing sound strategies to support traffic from the top to the bottom of the funnel in a commerce ecosystem, and educating and influencing a broad set of stakeholders in an enterprise environment. In this position, you’ll work closely with engineering and paid/SEM teams and agency partners to evolve and sustain a holistic, scalable, impactful SEO program.

Role Responsibilities

  • Own and oversee the SEO program, including strategy and accountability for performance to create revenue growth across 25+ markets.

  • Drive change within the business and continually push the SEO agenda aligned to company goals, market trends and best practices.

  • Analyze complex data sets to identify opportunities, forecast results, and implement strategies in a cross-functional team, as well as prepare and present executive-ready reports with insights about SEO performance.

  • Lead a team of specialists including engineers, project managers and SEO specialists to deliver new customer growth.

  • KPIs include Western union.com traffic, Western Union App downloads, # of new customers through website and app

  • Goal – drive customer acquisition and revenue. No specific revenue goals assigned.

  • SEO STRATEGY: Develop and implement a forward-thinking SEO strategy that drives New Customer and revenue growth.

  • KEY WORD RESEARCH: Conduct an in-depth test & learn strategy to identify high conversion opportunities and create a targeted content Strategy to leverage these opportunities.

  • CONTENT STRATEGY: Partner with content creators & agency to develop SEO friendly content including blog posts, articles and videos that drives traffic & conversion.

  • TECHNICAL SEO: Lead technical SEO audits to identify and resolve issues affecting site performance and user experience thereby driving conversion.

  • ANALYTICS & REPORTING: Monitor website performance using SEO tools & agency resources e.g. Google Analytics, and other relevant platforms. Create reports and provide reports & insights to improve SEO performance.

  • COMPETITOR ANALYSIS: Keep abreast of competitor strategies, emerging technologies, industry trends – adapting our approach to maintain competitive edge.

  • TEAM LEADERSHIP: Lead, mentor & manage a team of SEO technical specialists, providing guidance and support in their day-to-day activities.

  • EXTERNAL & INTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS: Manage relationships with internal stakeholders, external agencies, vendors, and influencers to maximize the reach and impact of marketing initiatives.

Role Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience in SEO marketing, with a proven track record of improving organic search performance & traffic to acquire new customers gained in a multi-channel retailer or financial services company.

  • Up to date with the latest trends and best practices in SEO & Digital marketing.

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Ability to communicate updates in a concise fashion to Executive Management and to understand and meet their expectations: Strategy development and execution, business transformation and change, influencing and collaborating, and people management at scale

  • 10+ Years Strong management / leadership skills in leading diverse, geographically dispersed teams

  • Experience in budget management and resource allocation.

  • Strong understanding of SEO platforms & tools e.g. Google Analytics, and best practices, with a demonstrated ability to leverage them effectively to achieve marketing goals.

  • Leading Technical SEO team for audit & delivery

  • Demonstrated experience successfully planning, organizing, managing, and implementing critical programs with end-to-end oversight.

  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements related to marketing and social media.

  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.

  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of leading and inspiring cross-functional teams to achieve marketing objectives.

  • Creative mindset with a passion for innovative marketing approaches and staying ahead of industry trends.

Salary

The annual base salary range is $160,000 – 200,000 USD per year. This role is also eligible to receive an annual bonus and Long-term Incentives. Actual salaries will vary based on candidates’ qualifications, skills, and competencies.
