About the Role
Aurora Solar is looking for mindful and strategic product managers who have a passion for delivering simple, useful, and delightful solutions to complex problems. Our product managers are customer-focused product people who are dedicated to bringing the voice of our customers to every table and empowering our organization to solve the most important obstacles for our customers.
Computer-aided design (CAD) is the foundation product group for Aurora that empowers our platform including lead, sales, design, and permitting solar software. Leading our CAD group means you'll be at the heart of the solar industry building the future of solar design software.
Product Management sits at the intersection of the company - what we do, why, and how. Be in the front seat in driving Aurora to our next growth phase.
Build around and on top of an incredible product and market position. Help build value for more customers as they navigate the solar design process.
Work closely with our customers to develop solutions allowing them to greatly scale their businesses, making a direct impact on solar adoption.
What You'll Do

• Lead a team of 4 product managers who are building site modeling, system design, geodata, and AI products
• Define a vision and strategy for the world's best solar CAD tool
• Set a strategy to achieve that vision that is coherent with the company mission, the larger product and business strategy, the competitive landscape, and market trends
• Lead the product shift from manual to automation tools via AI and heuristic-based algorithms
• Own the shift from being a set of tools to being a platform
• Define clear, measurable goals and metrics for your product group that represents success for our users, customers, and business
• Partner within and across teams, and contribute to a culture of camaraderie, psychological safety, and workplace satisfaction

What We Value

• At least 8+ years of experience in Product Management
• Experience managing a team of PMs; Strong background as a product leader
• Deep technical background is preferred. Developed intuitions and the ability to collaborate well with Engineering peers are critical
• Able to learn and manage deeply complex subject matter relevant to their projects
• Strong sense of ownership, initiative, and accountability
• Able to decompose a big, complex problem into smaller tractable parts
• Deep UX design background. Familiarity enough to have good instincts and collaborate well with Design peers is critical
• Focuses on customer and business results rather than output
• Clearly articulates ideas, concerns, and opportunities
• Able to rally and align a team and influence company management
• Enjoys helping to professionally develop other product managers
• Product experience in building a design tool is preferred
• Product experience building B2B products is preferred
