Job Description

WHAT IS BOX?

Box is the market leader for Cloud Content Management. Our mission is to power how the world works together. Box is partnering with enterprise organizations to accelerate their digital transformation by creating a single platform for secure content management, collaboration and workflow. We have an amazing opportunity to further establish ourselves as leaders in the space, and we need strong advocates to help us achieve that goal.

By joining Box, you will have the unique opportunity to help capture a majority of this developing market and define what content management looks like for the digital enterprise. Today, Box powers 100,000+ businesses, including many top Fortune 500 companies who trust our secure collaboration platform to manage the entire content lifecycle.

WHY BOX NEEDS YOU

As the leader in cloud content management, Box is the only company that can help enterprises transform how people work together "securely". Over the last few years, Box has grown rapidly and with that growth, we have added tons of users who frequently access content stored in Box. This is a phenomenal opportunity for you to own and innovate on one of our key differentiators by leading our strategy and execution of our Core Security products, inclusive of the Identity and Trust Platform, Keysafe, Endpoint and Collaboration Security areas. Bottom-line, we are a product-led company and our product managers are highly visible and engaged both across the business and externally.  You will work closely with engineering, product marketing, business development, customer success, and sales engineering, and our strategic technology partners to align roadmaps and execute on short and long term strategic product vision. On one day, you’ll be talking to some of our end users (out of the millions of users who use Box every day); the next, you’ll be crafting the vision and strategy for the future of work based on customer and data insights; and, the day after, you’ll be leading a team of engineers, designers and business analysts to deliver on the strategy you devised.

You are an experienced product manager who has successfully shipped enterprise products, and cares deeply about security and privacy of our customer’s data. You innately understand agile software development processes to influence cross-functional engineering teams to deliver mind-blowing capabilities in Box.
You’re a lifelong learner that is looking to build your product management skills in an imaginative environment. Most of all, you bring that ethos to work every day, where you work collaboratively with engineering, design, marketing, security operations, analytics, partners, and the IT team members to deliver amazing products or solutions.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Own roadmap and execution for core security products at Box, while leading a team of product managers

  • Lead one or more scrum teams to groom backlog and execute against roadmap by diligently executing each sprint by working closely with engineers and technical program manager

  • Partners with other engineering leadership, marketing, strategic technology partners, and executives to develop long term strategy and both short- and long-term product roadmap

  • Collaborate across the company to deliver product capabilities

  • Work effectively as part of a geographically distributed team

  • Occasional travel is required (domestic and international)

Required Skills/Experience:

  • You have 6+ years of product management experience shipping enterprise security SaaS products in a dynamic, high pace, and cross-functional environment

  • Experience in Data Leak Prevention (DLP), endpoint protection, identity management, Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), machine learning, access control, data mining, and related domains is a plus

  • Experience is managing a team of seasoned product managers

  • Bachelors or higher degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related fields is a plus

  • In-depth knowledge of UI/UX design principles with a keen eye for detail and aesthetics, with focus on designing and delivering a smooth user experience, ensuring seamless interaction with security features

  • Strong understanding of security concepts, frameworks, and industry best practices

  • Experience building or deploying modern identity-based systems leveraging technologies such as OAuth, SAML, FIDO2, OpenID Connect, and others for authentication, authorization and contextual access control is a strong plus

  • Experience building malware detection solutions, endpoint/mobile security and management, secure web proxy, and related technologies is a plus

  • Familiarity with cloud-based platforms and security solutions, preferably in the context of enterprise file sharing and collaboration is a plus

  • Capable of leading and motivating a team of engineers in a challenging, dynamic and global environment

  • You are comfortable both doing high-level strategy and execution: you are confident giving a presentation to the CEO and running a meeting with engineers, operations, and marketing

  • This role will be based out of Redwood City, CA
