Group Product Manager, Verticals
Job Description
Department: Marketplace Product
At Lyft, our purpose is to serve and connect. We aim to achieve this by cultivating a work environment where all team members belong and have the opportunity to thrive.
Lyft connects people to transportation to change the way we live and get around our communities. We are looking for product managers who bring exceptional creative and analytical skills to drive forward a best in class product. Product management at Lyft leads the integration of engineering, data science, and design to achieve the company’s vision for reinventing transportation. We are looking for entrepreneurial and passionate Product Managers to innovate and execute across a rapidly growing, fast paced company and industry from our San Francisco headquarters.
Lyft’s Verticals team owns three of the most strategically important and operationally complex marketplaces in our business: airports, scheduled rides, and events. These moments matter most. Airports are a defining touchpoint in the Lyft experience—high-stakes, high-complexity, and critical to both rider trust and driver earnings. Scheduled rides give riders confidence and control while providing drivers with greater predictability. Events—from packed stadium concerts to sold-out games—require precision logistics and seamless coordination at scale. Together, these verticals represent some of the highest-intent, highest-value use cases on the Lyft platform.
As Group Product Manager for Verticals, you will define how millions of people plan, book, and experience their journeys across these critical moments. You’ll lead a high-performing team of PMs to build seamless booking flows, deeply personalized experiences, and robust integrations with travel and event partners—owning the end-to-end product across all three verticals. You’ll take on some of the most complex challenges in rideshare: optimizing rider-driver matching in dynamic, high-variability environments; advancing demand forecasting; improving real-time driver guidance; and designing targeted incentives that drive growth. Working closely with Product Design, Data Science, Engineering, and Business teams, you’ll bring strong customer empathy, sharp product judgment, and a relentless ownership mindset. This is a highly visible role with outsized impact on Lyft’s core business, requiring you to balance the needs of riders and drivers in fast-moving, operationally intensive environments.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and grow a team of product managers, providing development, mentorship, and coaching to help them achieve their goals and Lyft's goals
- Set an ambitious vision for the Verticals team that motivates your team, peers, and leadership — and that accounts for the distinct dynamics of airports, scheduled rides, and events
- Understand Lyft's strategic and competitive position. Set your team's goals and success metrics that align with Lyft's mission and drive maximum impact based on data analysis, market research, and usability studies
- Completely own your team's products — existing and new — from ideation through development, experimentation, launch, growth, and maintenance, caring deeply about both rider and driver experiences
- Lead and align cross-functional partners including engineers, designers, data scientists, analysts, marketers, business partners, and operations to drive a shared vision
- Communicate clear roadmaps, priorities, experiments, and decisions across a wide spectrum of audiences from partner teams to executive leadership
Experience:
- 6+ years of experience in product management, product design, or equivalent consulting experience with significant time spent leading consumer mobile apps or marketplace products
- 2+ years of experience managing product managers
- Experience working with or alongside data science and operations teams on complex, products; familiarity with experimentation, marketplace dynamics, or logistics is a plus
- Passion for Lyft and what we are trying to achieve in sustainable urban transportation
- Natural ability to make things happen around you — you manage project ambiguity, complexity, and interdependencies in an organized and structured way
- Strong ability to define and analyze metrics that inform the success of products and the health of the business
- Excellent judgment and thoughtfulness about the dynamics of a product ecosystem
- Strong communication skills and intuition for communication strategy at every level — within teams, with partner teams, and to executive leadership
- Ability to conceptualize, manage, and prioritize multiple projects for stakeholders
- Detail oriented with superior organizational skills — balancing multiple projects, deadlines, and requests should be second nature to you
Benefits:
- Great medical, dental, and vision insurance options with additional programs available when enrolled
- Mental health benefits
- Family building benefits
- Child care and pet benefits
- 401(k) plan with company match to help save for your future
- In addition to 12 observed holidays, salaried team members have discretionary paid time off, hourly team members have 15 days paid time off
- 18 weeks of paid parental leave. Biological, adoptive, and foster parents are all eligible
- Subsidized commuter benefits
- Monthly Lyft credits and complimentary Lyft Pink membership
