Grower Accountant

Job Summary:

The ideal candidate profile for our Grower Accountant would be someone with demonstrated working knowledge of general accounting concepts and the ability to communicate with Blue Diamond's Member Relations team staff. The role would also perform basic general ledger reconciliations.

Job Description:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Reviews requests from Growers and Regional Managers to ensure process compliance of Assignments, Pre-harvest advances, Stockpiles, Deferrals, and Accelerated payments and creates payment instructions in Grower Information System.
• Supports Member Relations department by answering account questions from growers and staff.
• Arranges for production of accompanying letters and process adjustments and corrections to payments in the Grower Information System. Reviews and approves detailed reports sent to growers. Updates IRS 1099 records during the year and assist in year-end 1099 production and mailing. Provides additional detailed information to the financial accounting department.
• Using the Grower Information System monitors growers' special payment program accounts and processes adjustments as needed. Enter account corrections due to assignment changes.
• Performs reconciliations of grower accounts.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum 2 years of accounting experience.
• Developed financial and business analytical skills and attention to detail are required.
• Must be knowledgeable in standard business software to at least an inter
• mediate level, and with the aptitude to quickly become an advanced user. Frequent sitting at a computer terminal. Regular visual concentration for reading, reviewing reports and on-screen data.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Typical office environment and may require occasional manufacturing area visits.
