Markato is a Digital B2B Wholesale Marketplace and Distributor connecting retailers in APAC with emerging brands from around the world. We provide retailers and brands access to new wholesale opportunities in Asia as well as seamless online and offline infrastructure to thrive in the modern world.


In April 2023, Markato closed a seed round led by Lightspeed. Since then, the company has assembled a founding team comprised of early employees at Deliveroo, Uber and Grab who led the launch and expansion of those marketplace startups across Asia over the past decade. Building on strong and sustained growth in Hong Kong, Singapore, and Malaysia, Markato plans to launch across several markets in the next few months.


We are looking for talented and motivated all-stars to join our team!

What you will be doing

  • Depending on level experience, you will either own a business pillar (e.g. supply, demand, growth, shipping, logistics etc.) or help us build up the function
  • Develop, refine, and execute on go-to-market and expansion playbook
  • Lead initiatives across all functions, including and not limited to brand partnerships, sales, logistics, shipping, operations, strategy, finance etc.
  • Serve as domain expert and product owner for whatever problem you are tackling
  • Develop operational processes and fill gaps to translate your recommendations into execution in collaboration with Product/Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Ops, and Finance teams
  • Monitor performance by doing analyses, conducting research, and building reports and KPI dashboards, and complete in-depth analyses to translate data into meaningful insights
  • Structure complex and ambiguous strategic questions with a mix of analytical rigor, customer insight, and input from internal and external experts

What we are looking for

  • 5+ years of experience in professional services (i.e. finance/consulting /accounting) and/or business operations at a high growth startup or marketplace business
  • You are highly analytical and data-driven. You can complete complex analyses, define critical metrics, size opportunity areas, and measure and report on performance across the business. You enjoy analytical work and rolling up your sleeves to get to the right answer
  • You have the ability to both lead through influence and execute extremely well
  • You have strong communication skills and the ability to synthesize at the right altitude
  • Ability to flex between analytical, strategic and operational aspects of the job
  • You want to work in a fast-paced environment with constant change and learn how a business gets built 0 to 1
  • Good business acumen and interest in exploring the B2B ecommerce space
  • You have a bias to action!
