Your Opportunity

The landscape of student housing is changing, and Scion is at the forefront. The Growth Marketing Specialist will be responsible for supporting the leasing performance of Scion’s student housing communities in all facets related to outbound and digital marketing.         

The Growth Marketing Specialist is tactical and calculated in their approach to generating leads for each community’s unique customer profile. Critical thinking will be key in a fast-paced, agile, corporate environment where crucial decisions must be executed in real-time. This role consists of multiple projects with goals and deadlines that are expected to be met in a timely and consistent manner while requiring minimal guidance to accomplish general tasks. The role requires nothing short of a customer-centric attitude, an adaptable vision, and advertising prowess. For FLSA reasons, this position is exempt.

Your Responsibilities

Marketing and Advertising

  • Review, manage and execute digital advertising campaigns in partnership with agency partners.
  • Coordinate with corporate and community partners to ensure campaigns are cohesive across all online or in-person channels.
  • Assist in developing outbound marketing plans and regularly review the annual calendar with operations and sales leaders to ensure communities can hit lead-generation goals.
  • Stay current with the metrics of performance for digital advertising such as cost per click, impressions, open rates, etc. 

Prospect Acquisition and Lead Generation

  • Support leasing efforts by acquiring prospective residents through paid and unpaid advertising, email, campus promotions, or other initiatives.
  • Help set and monitor lead generation goals set for each community based upon leasing performance and need.
  • Understand the results driven by each lead sourcing initiative and possess the ability to replicate initiatives across diverse communities and markets.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external teams to source appropriate marketing materials, communicate updates, and ensure all support requests are fulfilled.
  • Proactively explore new platforms and activities specifically geared to our target audience that can serve as opportunities for lead sourcing.

Reporting and Consulting

  • Review, understand and interpret advertising results to identify successes and areas of opportunity.
  • Interpret Campaign results, community recommendations and areas of opportunity for stakeholders.
  • Liaise with external vendors for the organization to understand what advertising strategies are available and present this information to internal teams to maximize results.

What We Require

  • Experience with new development student housing marketing a plus.
  • College graduate preferred, with 1-2 years of marketing or advertising experience or comparable internship experience.
  • Proficient in marketing principles and social media avenues is preferred; demonstrated effort to stay current with these principles and trends.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational and problem-solving skills, and strong attention to detail.
  • Preferred experience with paid search and social advertising. 
  • Preferred onsite or new development marketing experience, showcasing their ability to develop and implement tailored marketing strategies for student housing communities.

Operational Details

  • Job location is based at Scion’s Chicago corporate headquarters.
  • Working hours consist of standard daytime business hours.
