About the Sales Operations Team
The Sales Operations team is a tight-knit group charged with helping to drive revenue through the sales team and improving pro Long Term Value (LTV) through the success team, all at the best ROI possible. We provide actionable insights to the sales and success teams and leadership, drive efficiencies in workflows and processes, and facilitate a smooth process for our pros to help them be successful on our platform. We collaborate across a variety of teams--from analytics to product to engineering to support!
About the RoleÂ
The Sales Operations Events Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and executing various sales events and activities to drive business growth and enhance pro engagement. This role involves collaborating with sales teams, marketing departments, and other stakeholders to ensure successful event outcomes. You will help to develop our sales events strategy by facilitating in-person connections for Thumbtack employees and clients through memorable in-person events, including our many conference events held across the US with franchise owners and home industry experts.Â
This role will be an important player within our Sales Operations Team and work collaboratively with stakeholders and event attendees to provide overall events support and data insights. This may include: event budget management, event registration management, process improvement, managing travel programs, communications, and more. This role will require domestic travel one to three times per quarter and in-person attendance at Thumbtack events.
Responsibilities
Support all event logistics including but not limited to: communications, registration, travel, accommodations, staffing, F&B, programming and content. Prepare comprehensive event reports, including attendance data, ROI analysis, and recommendations for future events.
- Support management of team’s event registration tool including the online registration process and running registration operations at in-person events
- Coordinate and support our travel and expense process, working cross functionally with other internal stakeholders
- Maintain vendor management tracking system and ensure all contracts and payments are handled accordinglyÂ
What you’ll need

- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience working in event management, event operations, travel or events related customer support, and/or general program/project management
- Knowledge of the sales industry and experience in coordinating sales-related events.
- Familiarity with CRM systems and marketing automation tools.
- You’re a driven self-starter, who leads with both enthusiasm and operational rigor in day-to-day event operations management and employee onsite experience
- You’re a highly detail-oriented and organized multi-tasker who successfully navigates a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in Excel/Google Sheets and written and verbal communication skills, with experience using G-Suite programs (Slides, Forms, Docs, Sheets, and GMail)
Bonus points if you have
- Experience working in a fast-paced or high-growth tech company with distributed teams
- Experience using data and metrics to measure impact, create reports and propose recommendations on improvements
- BI Tool experience with a background in SQL and/or Tableau dashboard creation
- Proven success in planning in-person events, retreats and offsites since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic
- Experience with the following tools and systems: Salesforce,Jira, Concur, Coupa, Ironclad, and Slack

For candidates living in San Francisco / Bay Area, New York City, or Seattle metros, the expected salary range for the role is currently $72,000 - $89,000. Actual offered salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as calibrated job level, qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.
For candidates living in all other US locations, the expected salary range for this role is currently $62,000 - $75,000. Actual offered salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as calibrated job level, qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.
