Job Summary
- Acts as the contractual point of contact between suppliers and the business while identifying potential opportunities of for negotiations for favorability within the contract.
- Responsible for the procurement life cycle of products and services for assigned suppliers.
- Work closely with the business units and the shared services organization, leading teams to development short- and long-term sourcing strategies and aligned with category strategies.
- Drive the execution of procurement policies which meet the needs of internal customer requirements.
- Manage the supplier governance process, based on supplier tiering approach drive overall value and strengthen supply chain ROI
Key Responsibilities
- For assigned suppliers:
- Act as the contractual point of contact between the company and suppliers; manage the overall supplier relationship, including the goals and objectives of the business
- Lead supplier governance routines, as defined by Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management policies and supplier tiering
- Ensure all documentation is accurate and maintained within the assigned data tools
- For renewal or new business needs:
- Pro-actively prepare to renew / re-source agreements with expiring term dates
- Identify and pre-qualify potential suppliers based on business requirements
- Construct financial and qualitative models to provide fact-based assessments of suppliers' abilities to meet / exceed Alight's needs at competitive price points
- Lead Internal teams through the strategic sourcing process transactions
- Lead in sourcing selection, following Alight's processes and controls
- Draft and negotiate contracts, working with Legal, Finance and Business partners
- Review/approve purchase order agreements for the required goods / services
- Ensure Alight's business strategies drive renewal and/or sourcing efforts, optimizing supplier base and financial targets
- Lead governance process for tier 1 and 2 suppliers
- Complete assigned special projects, meeting schedule and quality requirements
- Demonstrate ability to effectively manage projects with a pipeline of sourcing activities and deliver on associated timelines
- Adopt and utilize Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management tools and reporting mechanisms.
- Provide necessary visibility to Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management leaders; escalate issues appropriately.
- Proactively maintain and build category expertise by staying informed of industry trends and technology shifts.
- Experienced with spend segment categorization methodology and utilization of spend data to drive category specific strategy and management
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Experience
Knowledge, Education, Certification, Skills & Technical Proficiencies
- MBA/MS (preferred)
- BA/BS in business, finance, or supply chain management or equivalent work experience
Work Experience
- 5 - 10 years in focused sourcing/category management environment
- Extensive experience in comparable procurement (or supply chain) roles
- 3 plus years of expertise in procurement and negotiation techniques; proven ability to deliver favorable agreements which meet business requirements
- Expert in cost modeling and building business cases
- Well-versed in supplier management best practices
- Strong knowledge of the industry and market conditions
- Program management experience
- Working knowledge with e-sourcing/e-RFx contracting process and tools
- Able to travel as required

Pay Transparency Statement: Alight takes into consideration a candidate's experience, education, certification/credentials, market data, internal equity, and geography when determining an offer for a successful employment candidate, and Alight does so on an individualized, non-discriminatory basis. Therefore, an offer may fall anywhere between the estimated minimum base salary for this role of $62,000.00/year (for full time employees) and the estimated maximum base salary for this role of $120,000.00/year (for full time employees). In addition to a base salary, this position may be eligible for a bonus and/or other incentive plans.
