Job Description
The Go-to-Market Strategy team in Sales has a simple yet powerful charter. First, to streamline and align all the GTM efforts inside Cisco into one unified approach to our customers, partners and employees. Second, to drive profitable, accretive growth for Cisco. We work closely with Sales and Marketing Leadership Team (SMLT) to identify the most critical GTM opportunities for the business, align resources and investments, design streamlined processes and drive execution. We are strategic leaders who are passionate about market strategy, scale, and innovation.
The GTM Strategy and Planning Manager is a highly visible, strategic position, working with a diverse set of teams across Field Sales, Specialist Teams, Security & Trust Office, Govt. Affairs and Engineering Leadership. This highly collaborative leader will drive strategic projects that are either oriented towards specific segment growth such as Public Sector or cross segment initiatives that will drive incremental growth by orchestrating the activities of cross-functional Cisco and sales resources.
A successful candidate is a problem solver at heart and will own and drive multiple strategic priorities from ideation to execution. This will include collaborating with executives to identify pivotal initiatives, solutioning and recommendations via analytics, program management and upper-level management presentations. It requires developing deep context of the issues at hand, pragmatic decision making in a resource constrained environment and the ability to navigate complex issues to deliver the best outcome for Cisco.
Who You Are:
8+ years in a related role (Consulting, Strategy & Planning, Product Management) with a Bachelor's degree in business, or engineering; Master's degree preferred
Familiarity with field sales organizations, processes, and go-to-market motions a plus
Deep understanding of Cisco's solution portfolio: products, software, and services and the company transformation towards software and recurring revenue
Executive presence and leadership maturity to engage and communicate consistently with executives and key decision makers with relevant insights and situational judgment to enable positive and productive outcomes.
Excellent consultative skills, can successfully develop and implement relevant customer success strategies bringing to bear resources across Cisco, partners, and customers.
Possesses a good foundation in data analytics, with a demonstrated track record of using data to deliver business insights and recommendations.
Communicator: Excellent executive level communication and presentation skills, able to 'read the room' to understand when an audience is not aligned with the strategy, business outcome or solution being discussed.
Ability to persuade, influence and collaborate with key individuals. Assess where gaps exist for key decisions and drive an aligned outcome to achieve results. Accustomed to collaborating effectively with all levels of an organization and developing followership.
Consistent record of driving execution focused results. Skilled at issue management and managing expectations.
