To continue fueling our growth, we are hiring a Guidewire Platform Leader to oversee the support, design, and implementation practices for Guidewire Policy Center implementations as we implement new digital capabilities servicing Underwriting and Broker communities across end-to-end policy lifecycle processes.
The Guidewire Platform Lead is an individual contributor role responsible for the overall business and operational support, implementation patterns and design best practices for Guidewire Policy Center. This role will be instrumental in aligning and influencing the business strategy for policy administration for the Policy Center platform. The Guidewire Platform Lead will perform project and platform accountabilities working in partnership with the Systems Architects to optimize our investment in the Guidewire tools.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Partners and collaborates with Technology leadership and colleagues (e.g., solution architects and business leaders) on Policy Center technology solutions, provide governance, oversight, and strategic insight to all work in the platform.
- Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates business systems and user requirements related to rate, rule, or form changes for both existing and new lines of business.
- Works and collaborates directly with Underwriting, Filings, and Premium Operations management to understand business requests and applicable regulatory requirements to create clear and concise business requirement documentation.
- Provides recommendations for process improvements and technology solutions to aid the project stakeholder in accomplishing their strategic goals.
- Facilitates a consistent and constant flow of communication between the business users and IT.
- Collaborates with other teams to ensure Policy Center integrates seamlessly with other systems and processes.
- Requirements Management: Creates, reviews and edits requirements, specifications, business processes, and integrations with applications and makes recommendations for proposed solutions and serves as an escalation point by guiding and helping team members with Policy Center issues.
- Documentation: Writes detailed descriptions of user needs, program functions, and process steps necessary for developing or modifying Policy Center and supporting applications.
- Testing: Develops testing scenarios and defines expected results based on specific software specifications and development. Performs user acceptance testing as per test plans. Communicates issues and verifies issue resolution.
- Agile Methodology: Effectively applies company Agile project methodology and ensures adherence to project standards by collaborating with teams and project stakeholders to prepare and manage objectives, scope, estimates, timeline, budget, & resource plans. Supports the project stakeholder, especially with respect to refinement and maintaining the product backlog.
- Maintains comprehensive awareness of Guidewire Cloud product roadmap. Research industry and emerging trends in technology as they relate to underwriting and policy administration; advise the organization on ways in which emerging Guidewire capabilities can enhance business capabilities.
Qualifications, Education & Experience
Strategic and innovative leader passionate about advancing an overall Policy Center strategy and vision.
- Preferably a minimum of 7+ years of solid, diverse work experience in operations and technology including experience with business analysis and solution implementation.
- Experience with Guidewire implementations and best practices is desired.
- Experience leading complex project teams and engaging with senior level business partners.
- Experience with Guidewire Cloud Platform implementation a plus.
- Knowledge of Guidewire Dev/Ops and Testing frameworks is a plus.
- Understanding of agile methodologies and application of enterprise architecture principles to the development lifecycle.
- Solid understanding of insurance functions and processes, both within the organization and across the industry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal and consultative skills to work effectively and build partnerships and relationships across the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to drive decisions to conclusion.
- Advanced problem-solving skills with the ability to articulate an approach and solution effectively and succinctly for both business and technology partners.
- Experience in commercial insurance industry and applicable certifications preferred.
- Ability to support application delivery and technology operations using Agile methodologies.
- BS in business, technology, engineering, or related field.
For NYC Only: The base salary range for this position is $155,000 - $200,000 annually. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, qualifications and work location.
