Hardware Design Engineer

What you'll do:

The primary function of this position is to drive and implement VAVE/ DtV projects with close engagement with various product lines with-in the Eaton GEIS EMEA Business. The applicant will be able to work independently to identify, develop ideas that could deliver significant cost saving opportunities on the existing products and NPDs by collaborating cross functional teams viz, engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, process engg. The candidate must possess knowledge on product teardown, benchmarking concepts and good presentation skills to report out the project outcomes.

• Experience in Designing Industrial Electronic products for applications in Process Industries
• Benchmarking of electronics components, Electronics Cost Out, Component engineering, Validation and Alternative assessments.
• Experience in analog and digital design, and troubleshooting knowledge is desired.
• Experience in BOM costing of electronics component.
• Working with layout resources, design reviews with Global design leaders
• Work with cross functional teams -Mechanical, Marketing, Procurement, NPI
• Familiar with design calculations, simulation methods, design documentation.

• Bachelor of Engineering- Electronics (& Communication or Electrical).
• Overall working experience of 5 to 7 years
• Relevant - Core domain experience of 3 to 5 years

• Possesses strong skills in Analog / Digital electronics.
• Experience in costing of electronics component.
• Knowledge on Value methodology is preferred.
• Knowledge in Teardown and Benchmarking concepts, Cost Outs.
• Exposure in Component Engineering and component selection.
• Good understanding of EMI/EMC and their impact on hardware is mandatory.
• Knowledge in Certification and Standards, preferably UL, IEC on hazardous appl.
• Testing skills to meet functional and environmental requirement.
