Goals:
We aim to build Denmark's most innovative Product Development department in VEO. We are building a huge development team with all the necessary in-house capabilities to push the needle of innovation and innovation speed. We will use our local, internal assembly line to fast-track our time to market.
The most challenging part of this role is getting up to speed with our tech. It is a complicated product with many different functions, requiring you to catch up fast on areas such as camera, mic DSP, battery management, general control, etc.
It would be best if you were up for a steep learning curve.
You:
To manage this position, you need a general understanding of mechanics, design, electronics, and firmware. Also knowledge of DFM for large productions & assembly line setups, as well as a good understanding of agile work forms.
We seek talented people regardless of seniority, but we need you to have five years of practical experience developing consumer electronics products or a master's degree in a relevant area for this position.
Responsible for:
- Overseeing, guiding, coaching, and managing one of our Development teams consisting of up to 10 employees, developing cutting-edge AI sports cameras from start to finish
- Leading Electronics Engineers, Firmware Developers, and Mechanical Design Engineers
- Hiring new team members to solve the project needs. Max team size is 10 full-time employeesÂ
- Leading projects for the team. Planning, task management, follow-upÂ
- Owning the vision of the products developed - In other words Product Management. Scoping and grooming tasks with the team
- Engaging with partners, suppliers, and consultants to achieve team goals
- Managing the team processes inspired by Agile Methodology (stand-ups, weekly check-ins, sprint planning, retro, OKRs, reporting, Kanban boards, backlog management, etc.)Â
- Developing and controlling timelines in Instagantt. Adding reasonable buffers and updating the timeline runningly, so it can be relied onÂ
- Developing budgets for Capex & Opex of your team and goals
- There is a lot of responsibility and a lot of freedom to do it how you see fit
Tools & Platforms:
- Google drive
- Google calendar and meet
- Superhuman (UI layer on Gmail for optimizing speed and followups) - you will be getting quite some emails
- Asana (backlog & Kanban)
- Instagantt (timeline)Â
The Team:
The Team is young, creative, humble, energetic, and respectful of each other. So you will be part of a multi-faceted team with all functions from Electronics Engineers, Firmware Developers, and Mechanical Designers to make a complicated IOP product from the start till finish.
