Our Auburn Hills, MI location is seeking an experienced Hardware Engineer (with cross-discipline opportunities) to join our Continental Engineering Services (CES) team.

THE POSITION
The responsibilities of the role will focus on hardware analysis and development can also include system or software development. The ideal candidate is interested to work in a cross-discipline role and has skills in hardware analysis and design as well as embedded software development for in-vehicle automotive electronics.

Areas of responsibility / Main tasks: • Estimate HW development efforts in new project acquisitions• Analysis of customer requirements and internal specifications• Create and maintain project schedule of HW development activities• Perform worst-case circuit analysis• Maintain documentation according to CES Quality process• Develop and validate the production test specification (PTS)• Support SW developers with HW needs• Lead technical discussions• Design and review schematics and PCB layouts• Test electronics circuits• Coordinate PCB Builds• Test prototype hardware• Problem solving and root cause analysis• Software or systems development including• Requirement elicitation and analysis• Create and maintain system architecture• Implement embedded software

Job Requirements

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or other engineering discipline• 2 -5 years of experience with designing complex electrical circuits (Analog and/or Digital)• Understanding of Electrical design process and techniques for analog and digital circuit design• Expert with Schematic Capture tools (Cadence, Altium, EAGLE CAD, etc.) and PSpice simulation• Proficient in basic EE test equipment (oscilloscope, DMM, signal generator, etc.)• Experience with analysis of requirements (system, hardware, software)• Experience with system or software testing• Familiarity with system development techniques including the V model• Familiarity with embedded software design and implementation• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or other engineering discipline• 5-7 years of experience designing complex electrical circuits (Analog and/or Digital)• 5-7 years of experience with software development for embedded applications• Experience with systems involving safety and cybersecurity• Experience in design for manufacturing (DFM, DFT, etc.)• Experience with embedded software design and implementation
