Job Title: Hardware Engineer III

Introduction:

The Hardware Engineer III will be a member of the current product engineering team and provides detailed analysis and troubleshooting related to the design, development and implementation of the hardware in the Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions self-checkout products.

Responsibilities:

• Create and implement engineering change (EC) solutions for current products via suppliers and the internal engineering team. EC's required to fix problems, solve end of life components, shortages and cost reduction.
• Project manage EC solutions including cross-functional scheduling of production cut-in. Report status to product and engineering management.
• Provide development lab field support for customer problems.
• Support production and work with Quality and Manufacturing Engineers on solutions to field problems balancing design and production control trade-offs.
• Manages cost reduction brainstorming sessions and cost reduction projects to completion.
• Review new product development considering customer use, service and support.

Required Skills:

• 7+ yrs of hardware engineering experience in an engineering or product production/development environment
• Fluent in English
• Experience defining projects, collecting requirements, and coordinating efforts to scope, schedule, and to release new product components
• Practical experience with a variety of hardware devices.
• Strong ability to solve problems
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills both up and down the organizational chain
• Critical thinking skills
• Strong attention to detail capability
