About the role

We are the Hardware Engineering group that designs and implements embedded systems (meters) for collecting data about media consumption. Our team’s responsibilities include industrial design, electrical schematic design, circuit board layout, and enclosure mechanical design. We use contract manufacturers to build prototypes and production meters. Our designs range in size from rack mount Broadcast Engineering equipment to wearable devices as small as a wrist watch. 


Key Responsibilities

Lead delivery of critical programs/projects that are strategically aligned to business strategy and objectives. The VP will partner with the technology executives and business clients to define technology strategies and will directly manage the set of programs that deliver on said strategies. Drive business unit financials, NPI process and requirements across the business units’ initiatives/programs.

Role Requirements

  • Provide program delivery and end-to-end management of large scale business impacting initiatives both directly and through management of a team of project managers and requirements analysts.
  • Create and execute large scale program and project plans as a result of strategic long-term company initiatives.
  • Engage with business leaders and clients to understand business needs and translate these needs into executable solutions.
  • Manage expectations, requirements gathering and the NPI process for large scale initiatives and programs.
  • Lead team(s) of technology employees through programs and projects that create, enhance or maintain applications, platforms, and/or technology systems and processes.
  • Drive consistent project and program management disciplines that result in on-time, quality and on budget project delivery.
  • Drive program and/or business unit financials
  • Establish strong relationships with key internal Clients, CoEs and other technology stakeholders and create convergence by demonstrating credibility, empathy and expertise on business and technical issues. 
  • Partner with other Technology teams as needed to aid with decisions around technology hardware and software usage
  • Solve resourcing needs with Full Time staff or third party staff augmentation cost effectively
  • Manage, coach and development of Full Time team(s)

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor of science degree in computer science or similar. A Masters degree in computer science, computer engineering, software technology or a related field is preferred.
  • 15+ years experience in a large scale corporate Technology department
  • 7+ years experience leading large scale technology teams 
  • 7+ years experience in program management
  • 7+ years experience of direct employee management
  • 5+ years experience managing vendors offshore and onshore
  • Experience owning and managing to a budget
  • Knowledge in architectural design and development across multiple technologies
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams
