The position of a product manager at NCR is one that is holistic in nature. This role will lead a team of cross functional backgrounds that cover all aspects of development including engineering, sales, marketing, operations and quality. Our market leading product portfolio includes solutions required to drive transactions in Retail, Hospitality and Convenience & Fuel environments with point of sale terminals, self-checkout, online ordering, and self-ordering kiosks. Point of sale is the heart of a Retailer's IT landscape, as everything else integrates into it. NCR Retail has the market leading position in point of sale (POS) and self check out systems, and is investing in maintaining that position. As we continue building our next generation of products we need to ensure we have strong product managers guiding our teams to innovate the next generation of solutions.

Lead cross functional technical teams including engineering, marketing, quality, UX design, operations, and manufacturing Analyze, identify, and quantify market opportunities for necessary innovative products and capabilities that will be used in nationwide grocery, drug, convenience & fuel, and department/specialty retail outlets both domestic and foreign. Position Summary & Key Areas of Responsibility

As the Product Manager you will play a pivotal in role in developing and promoting innovative hardware products that will be integrated with NCR software and supported by NCR services. Effectiveness in this role requires the ability to:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, consisting of engineering, quality, operations, marketing, services and sales, to define product requirements, develop product roadmaps, and execute project plans
  • Oversee the product lifecycle management of hardware from concept through discontinuation.
  • Create and present business cases to VP and ELT stakeholders
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify industry trends, customer needs, and opportunities for product enhancements or new product development
  • Drive continuous product improvement by gathering and analyzing customer feedback and monitoring product performance to ensure continued success of products
  • Work with global teams across multiple regions and time zones
  • Recruit customers to act as "advisor users" to co-create innovative products.
  • Manage knowledge transfers with Pre-Sales and Sales to ensure NCR's sales organization is equipped with the product knowledge required to close deals
  • Learn NCR product capabilities and align with the strategy to drive
  • Willingness to engage with customers and recruit customers to act as "advisor users" to co-create innovative products

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years proven experience in a Product Management role
  • Experience working in technology within any industry, ideally within Retail
  • Excellent knowledge with MS Office products, especially Excel and Powerpoint
  • Experience with JIRA is helpful
  • Self-motivated, organized and ability to successfully manage multiple priorities for multiple products in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent organization, communication, time management, facilitation, and follow-thru skills
  • Owns outcomes & drives to completion without being reminded
  • Curiosity & thirst for learning, and ability to adapt quickly
  • Strong interpersonal skills & ability to build strong, trusting relationships
  • Ability to simplify the complex
  • Problem-solving aptitude & creative thinking skills

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Management or other quantitative field
