Hardware Support Technician

Whitebox, a rapidly growing Baltimore based e-commerce startup, is looking for an Hardware Support Technician in our North American operation. As a Hardware Support Technician you will be responsible for developing and managing process improvement roadmaps within a specific business unit across the entire Whitebox fulfillment network. You will work closely with the operations leaders in each warehouse to set & measure adherence to standard work, identify and communicate areas of opportunity, coordinate with a diverse group of stakeholders, and create mechanisms to deliver scalable results for the business.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot warehouse hardware (Chromebook, Chromebox, barcode scanners, thermal and commercial printers).
- Communicate with outside vendors to troubleshoot conveyor lines and robotic arms.
- Maintain the Inventory Management system and set up new devices.
- Audit warehouse hardware for missing or damaged units.
- Assist Corporate IT during on-site incidents as needed.
- Be available on the warehouse floor to respond to requests from users. This
position will involve significant amounts of walking and time on your feet.
Required Experience
- Troubleshooting and administering Chrome OS, macOS, and Windows systems.
- Working in a ticketing environment (Zendesk, Jira, etc.).
- Maintaining an inventory of many devices.
- Basic network experience. Ability to wire up routers and switches and
troubleshoot basic Wi-Fi and network issues.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in a warehouse, logistics, or large retail environment.
- Experience managing devices on GCP (Google Cloud Platform).
- Experience with SQL and/or CLI.
- Experience with network deployment of managed network switches (Unifi).
- CompTIA A+ Certification a plus.
Basic Qualifications
- You are authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
- Available to work overtime during Whitebox's peak holiday season
and as needed year-round
