Hardware Test Engineer
Description -
Job Summary• This role is responsible for leading the coordination of hardware regulatory testing, developing, and implementing parameters, test plans, and process improvements. The role applies intermediate level of subject matter knowledge to analyze, build, and test electromechanical components and assemblies. The role participates in project teams with internal and outsourced partners to develop reliable, cost-effective, and high-quality solutions. The role manages relationships with partners and communicating project status, issue tracking, and compliance.
Responsibilities
• Develops and implements parameters and test plans for new products, existing products, including shock and vibration, electromagnetic interference, safety, reliability, system power measurements & acoustics.• Drives process improvements and validation analyses with empirical testing on new and modified designs.• Works in a collaborative environment to analyze and test electro/mechanical components, devices, structures, and assemblies.• Participates as a member of project team of hardware engineers and internal and outsourced development partners to develop reliable, cost effective and high quality solutions for moderate to complex products.• Manages technical relationships with outsourced partners, on mechanical, electrical and firmware development, including setting expectations regarding deliverables, product quality, and schedules. Provides engineering support to partners who are coordinating test project within the lab.• Manages test implementation for design engineering change notifications/engineering change approval request processes, qualification tests, and schedule.• Manages test implementation for value engineering projects, schedule, tests, and communication.
• Supports program level PMT's as necessary for technical level communication of issues and organizes corrective action and response plans
Education & Experience Recommended• Four-year or Graduate Degree (preferred) in relevant engineering discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
• Typically has 2-4 years of work experience, with emphasis on hardware test and project management.
