Hardware Test Engineer

Hardware Engineering is a diverse, innovative, and collaborative group of electrical, mechanical, reliability, software and vehicle engineers. We design, build, and perfect the products which are the eyes and ears of Waymo's autonomous driving technology, and integrate those products into vehicle platforms. In this role you'll:

• Develop and maintain HW/SW of test stations for PCBA  and module level testing
• Provide technical leadership to our manufacturing partners to bring up, troubleshoot and maintain production testers
• Conduct PCBA and photonic module failure analysis for production fallouts
• Develop product troubleshooting and rework procedures

At a minimum, we'd like you to have:

• BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering or relevant disciplines
• Experience in digital and analog circuit design/analysis, PCBA bringing-up, testing and troubleshooting
• Strong hands-on EE lab skills and enthusiasm in solving real world production problems
• Experience in Python software development
• Good communication skills in English

It's preferred if you have:

• Strong experience in Linux networking and network infrastructure
• Experience in managing contract manufacturers, particularly in Asia, and ability to travel domestically and internationally
• Strong experience in Python software development
