Hazard Classification Specialist (BT-23144)

The Hazard Classification Specialist will support AMCOM supporting Air Defense.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Review safety and engineering documentation (energetic test data, energetic hazard classifications, hazard analysis, engineering drawings, packaging documentation, etc.) for Army Missile Systems and components.
• Develop system safety documentation (technical data packages, test report analysis, memorandums, etc.) as required.
• Understand energetic classification testing and reporting and determine the hazard classification of Missile Systems and their components based on historical data and current methodology.
• Develop hazard classification documents (Interim Hazard Classifications (IHCs) and Final Hazard Classifications (FHCs)) and support the Department of Defense Explosives Safety Boards (DDESB) and Material Release (MR) packages.
• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED:

• This position requires US Citizenship due to the sensitivity of customer related information.
• This position requires Secret Clearance, or the ability to obtain one.
• Must have a bachelor's degree with 11+ years of experience or an associate degree with 15+ years of experience.
• In lieu of degree: Candidates with 21+ years of recent and relevant work experience will be considered.
• Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) NAVSCOLEOD graduate.

DESIRED:

• Previous experience with hazard classification.

WORK LOCATION:

• This position currently offers a hybrid work schedule but could be located onsite in the future.
• This position offers a 9/80 schedule, every other Friday off.
• This position may require some travel.

BACKGROUND INVESTIGATIONS REQUIRED:

DRUG AND ALCOHOL SCREENING REQUIRED:

All Bastion employees must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen; some contracts require participation in periodic random drug and alcohol screening programs.

• Must have experience with Microsoft Office Suite.

• Must have a strong work ethic and must be safety culture oriented.
• Must be organized with good time management skills.
• Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.
• Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time).
• May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).
• Regular attendance in accordance with an established work schedule is critical.
• Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
