HCG - Automation Engineer (All Levels)

Job Description

Horizon Controls Group is now hiring all levels of Automation Engineers to install new highly complex equipment including robotics into a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be involved in the designing, implementing, and validating automation systems for the new equipment to ensure optimal performance, compliance with industry standards, and safety.

• Work with equipment manufacturers and project teams to develop automation system design and requirements.
• Develop and implement automation strategies for the new equipment, including PLCs (Programmable Logic Control), HMIs, and SCADA systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to install, commission, and validate the new equipment and automation systems.
• Develop and execute test plans to ensure automation systems operate as intended and comply with regulatory requirements.
• Troubleshoot issues related to automation systems and propose solutions to ensure timely resolution.
• Develop and maintain documentation related to automation systems, including design specifications, user requirements, test plans, and standard operating procedures.
• Provide technical support and training for end-users, including system administrators and operators.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in automation engineering, with a focus on equipment installation in a pharmaceutical environment.

• Knowledgeable on one or more of the following: DeltaV, PLCs, AVEVA PI, Ignition

• Strong knowledge of automation systems including programming languages such as ladder logic, structured text, and function block diagram.

• Experience with robotics and other highly complex equipment and associated automation systems.

• Familiarity with industry regulations and standards, including 21 CFR Part 11, GAMP 5, and ICH guidelines.

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
