HCM Principal Engineer

COMPANY OVERVIEW

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

Partner with IT and business teams to provide the necessary leadership to drive technology solutions by weighing advantages of technology standards market availability of products and risks and benefits of technology introduction into Exelon's computing environment. Provide comprehensive consultation to business unit and IT management and staff at the highest technical level for assigned architectural domain. Operates independently with little or no supervision.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Provide technical expertise to IT and business teams to identify technology solutions and strategies to achieve business results. Ensure appropriate implementation of technology within both the development and production environments.
• For architecture: Design and develop enterprise-wide architecture and strategy for assigned architectural domain in alignment with the business strategy. For engineering: Perform engineering and design functions for software applications and infrastructure in support of the corporate-wide strategic information technology plan oversee the introduction of new technology into the operations environment by utilizing Exelon's standard governance process.
• Provide technological expertise and advice to IT leadership in the development of strategic information technology plans to support business strategies.
• Establish maintain and enhance relationships with business and IT partners. Communicate status to key stakeholders on a regular basis.
• Maintain awareness of trends and issues in area of technical expertise evaluate new technologies or technology opportunities and provide analysis of their potential impact to advantage the business.
• Provide input to IT managers on performance of IT personnel to assist in performance evaluations career development and recognition.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline and typically 8 to 10 years in solid diverse experience in IT with a focus in HR application and platform support (Oracle HCM). Equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered.
• Appropriate technical skills: SQL or NoSQL databases (Oracle/ SQL Server) Azure cloud (IaaS/PaaS) Python JavaScript Informatica Apigee Boomi Unix shell scripting.
• In-depth knowledge of business unit functions and applications such as payroll recruiting & talent time entry benefits core HR and HR analytics.
• Experience with or exposure to Agile Scrum and interactive development processes.
• Comprehensive understanding of change management techniques associated with new technology implementation.
• Experience producing an economic business case.
• Demonstrate leadership ability.
• Strong judgment excellent analytical ability and consulting skills.
• Excellent communications skills and ability to work effectively with all levels of IT and business management and with vendors.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Graduate degree in area of technical specialty.
• Experience in development process design or configuration of HCM applications particularly Oracle HCM and iCIMS Talent Cloud.
• Ability to effectively share technical information communicate technical issues and solutions to all levels of business
• Able to juggle multiple projects - can identify primary and secondary objectives prioritize time and communicate timeline to team members
• Ability and desire to take product/project ownership
• Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and Company needs Ability to communicate technical details clearly across organizational boundaries.
• Cloud and services experience particularly Azure cloud.
• Excellent analytical skills with systematic and structured approach to software design.
• Passion for building highly scalable exceptionally reliable services.
