Amylyx was started in 2013 by two Brown University students who had an ambitious goal: to improve the lives of people with neurodegenerative diseases by addressing the root cause. Their research and close collaboration with the ALS community ultimately resulted in our first commercial product, which is now approved in the U.S. and conditionally approved in Canada.

THE ROLE

The Head, Enterprise Communications is part of the growing Global Corporate Communications team and reports to the Head of Investor Relations and Communications. This position will partner closely with the Amylyx leadership team to provide strategic counsel on internal communications planning and execution. The Head, Enterprise Communications will regularly assess and track impact of communications and adjust, as necessary. This position will also partner closely with other senior leaders to ensure timely, clear, and creative employee communications through live, written, and digital channels. This position will also oversee all internal digital communications platforms, including global company intranet and associated content.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partners with senior leaders to assess communication needs, goals, and priorities; provides counsel on approach and ensures the direction/messaging of communication to the organization is clear and consistent to meet the business needs within the broader enterprise framework
  • Assesses, designs and develops information/content that impacts all employees and develops key internal communications materials
  • Provides counsel to senior leaders on appropriate communications plans, including timing, cascade, interactions, and messaging; supports execution of internal communications plans
  • Coaches leaders on their communication effectiveness and ensures readiness for significant speaking events and/or presentations to employees as needed
  • Designs and implements a strategy for introducing new digital internal communications tools to support employee engagement, and acts as community and content manager of those infrastructure tools once rolled out 
  • Oversees development and publication of content on Amylyx’ intranet, including company news highlights, upcoming events, and employee spotlights
  • Participates as a leadership member of the Global Culture Connections team to help drive internal events and virtual employee programming
  • Develops metrics that demonstrate the impact internal communications is having on business objectives

REQUIREMENTS

  • A bachelor’s degree is required
  • 12+ years of relevant internal and executive communications work experience; previous healthcare/pharma/biotech industry experience would be an advantage for this role
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively tailor communication to stakeholders across a global organization
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, high-pressure, deadline-driven environment
  • Prior experience with SharePoint or a similar tool and very comfortable learning and adapting new technologies for internal communications purposes
  • A strong desire to develop close, successful working relationships with senior leadership and departments across the organization
  • Ability to adapt quickly and an energetic, efficient, and resourceful team player and effective leader
  • Located in the Boston area or able to travel to Cambridge, MA, multiple times per month
