We are currently looking for a Head of North America Communications, based out of Fort Worth. This role leads teams in shaping and sharing the corporate strategy, is accountable for the development, implementation and ongoing management of communications strategies, plans and projects, and manages stakeholder expectations aligning activities with Alcon's enterprise-wide strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Accountable for overall development/execution/success (as measured by aligned KPIs) of overall communications strategies and solutions
• Setting and delivering department budget, overseeing external project support, negotiating agency/vendor support, and ensuring projects deliver to defined KPIs.
• Continuous improvement across team/department with an enterprise mindset, overseeing development and implementation of strategies and processes to achieve KPIs and evolve the function, narrative development and implementation, and editing/producing content that differentiates Alcon with key audiences.
• Creating and overseeing plan to coordinate, administer, ensure content is polished, professional, complete and ready to submit for final approval. Routinely acts as final approver of communications materials in line with the Communications approval process.
• Using data analytics to make data-driven recommendations; role models a continuous improvement mindset to enhance and set future benchmarks; oversees assessment and deployment of new analytics tools, including budget allocation in line with department targets
• Ensuring the team effectively anticipates and manages issues; serves as senior counsel for executives and aids team in counseling/supporting other internal and external stakeholders as needed
• Consistently demonstrates expert-level core writing capabilities through basic competencies that include: keen awareness of proper syntax, grammar, punctuation, quality of work, adaptability of writing style, and creativity. Excellence in connecting messages to strategy, simplifying the complex, providing clarity, and driving engagement across key audiences.
• Accountable for overseeing development, approval and maintenance of corporate assets based on role and team's remit (e.g., global, region, country).
• Uses exceptional judgement, representing information in the right way with an inclusive mindset, and demonstrates ownership of decisions.
• Leads, engages and develops a successful team, creates a climate of professional growth in which talent can learn and apply new skills.

Qualifications Required

• Bachelors Degree or greater
• 12+ years of relevant experience
• 8+ years leadership experience
