Job Description
Profile Summary:
Reporting to the Head of Advisory and Financial Planning, this individual will have daily responsibilities for the financial planning unit, providing technical financial planning sales and relationship management support to phone and field advisors and internal partners, including strategic direction for financial planning services in Retirement Services. He/she will work with channel partners in retail products and distribution, qualified plans and other channels to ensure the highest quality and compliant financial planning delivery.

Please Note: Work location for this role is FLEXIBLE! This position allows 100% remote work. Colorado Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $156,000 - $235,000. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, geographic differentials, certifications, etc. In addition to the base salary, Voya offers incentive opportunities based on each role to reward achievement of annual performance objectives. Job Description
Profile Summary:
Reporting to the Head of Advisory and Financial Planning, this individual will have daily responsibilities for the financial planning unit, providing technical financial planning sales and relationship management support to phone and field advisors and internal partners, including strategic direction for financial planning services in Retirement Services. He/she will work with channel partners in retail products and distribution, qualified plans and other channels to ensure the highest quality and compliant financial planning delivery.
Profile Description:
- Partner with Advisors and Sales Managers to provide coaching and accountability on client acquisition, financial planning, and sales strategies for field leaders and advisors.
- Promote the Retirement Readiness strategy across the organization and to corporate, tax-exempt, affinity groups, advisors and individual prospects and customers of Voya.
- Manage financial planning specialist team to achieve scorecard goals and advance retirement and financial planning services.
- Develop, maintain, and deepen relationships with advisors. Build rapport and credibility.
- Leverage internal systems and reports to identify opportunities for growth in advisor practices.
- Drive awareness, implementation, and effectiveness of key programs and initiatives within Retirement Services and the Central Advice Group.
- Respond to requests received via e-mail and phone from senior managers, senior advisors, RVPs (Regional Vice Presidents) and other partners regarding various programs, messages, and materials related to client acquisition, financial planning and sales strategies.
- Provide in-depth subject matter expertise on Retirement Readiness and related marketing, sales and financial planning program initiatives.
- Assist in the coordination, facilitation, and follow up of key advisor conferences.
- Provide coaching advice to field and phone advisors and Middle Market America phone team regarding planning options and escalation to higher level services. Includes using strategies to identify additional assets and accomplish asset gathering, asset retention and product placement consistent with Voya Retirement Services regulatory and Business Conduct guidelines.
- Provide frequent feedback and employ designated metrics to evaluate appropriate Advisor accreditation levels and entitlements.
- Provide career development and counseling for Financial Planning Specialists.
- Develop and improve planning and advice tools for use by Advisors.
Education & Experience:
- 10+ year's financial services leadership experience with financial planning services and team management.
- FINRA Series 7, 65 or 66 preferred
- Strong understanding of financial and retirement planning and asset allocation strategy, vendors and tools.
- Experience working with qualified plan sponsors and participants regarding retirement planning services.
- Ability to provide managerial skills across Financial Planning Specialists and within the Central Advice Group.
- Sound technical knowledge of RIA and broker-dealer technology.
- Expert-level knowledge of retirement planning, asset allocation, asset management, BD/RIA regulations and business practices. Ability to understand, apply and communicate complex financial planning concepts to a client's situation.
- Excellent public speaking, interpersonal and writing skills required.
- Ability to provide managerial skills across Financial Planning Specialists and within the Central Advice Group.
- Must be able to work in a fast paced professional environment and to adapt quickly to rapid changes in technology and procedures.
- Periodic travel may be required for client meetings, training and speaking engagements.
- Track and report key activities and results.
